"All at once they dive downward, screeching and madly beating their wings as they descend. Scraping to a stop 30ft in front of you. You can now see all 8 of the beasts before you in full form. Although they do not seem large at 3ft, they appear hideous. They screech at you with their emaciated bird-like form, flapping leathery, stone grey batlike wings, while it’s off yellow scaled tail whips and writhes on the earth, kicking up dust around it. The feathers down its back looks hard and spiked similar to rocks in browns and whites.
One of them tears at a shrub nearby with its razor edged beak and you watch in shock as its leaves harden over and turn to stone." - Session 2

Dietary Needs and Habits
The Carocka were originally omnivores leaning more toward herbivores, they typically would eat plants and small insects. They now have a tendency to snap at larger creatures and the swarm them.
Behaviour
The Carocka typically were a placid species, eating flora of the mountains and the occasional insect. They would nest most of the flock in the peaks and only few Carocka would travel through the area. After the DD the Carocka now spend a large amount of time hunting in their flock that now resembles a swarm/horde, preying on species larger than them with a generally peaceful alignment.

The Carocka are not particularly perceptive during the day but the stragglers in the backs of the flock do keep their eye out for prey that the flock can swarm.
