The Advent of Magiteck

While infusing items with magic such as swords, and armor has been around longer than any surviving kingdom on the continent of Solesia. The advent oof powering machines with magic and more importantly crystals infused with magic is a much more recent note in the pages of history. The first recorded use of magiteck comes from surviving records pf the last Great Demon War roughly a century ago. It is believed Duke Harold Leothen pioneered the use of magiteck with mechanical soldiers to bolster his armies which had been decimated by the initial demonic invasion. While crude and initially unskilled they had a strength and durability that the average soldier lacked enabling them to wear down the demonic hordes and give the Heroes of the time an edge on the demonic hordes they desperately needed.

Writers note: Scholars widely accredit the early adoption of magiteck to the rise and rapid expansion of the Leothen Empire after the end of the last Great Demonic War.

After the war ended many nations set out on the difficult task of rebuilding. This is where the true innovations of magiteck began to take shape. From Iron Bulls who could plow fields to self pulled chariots that could carry more than a team of the strongest horses and even repurposing the mechanized soldiers to lift and help rebuild many of the structures that were damaged or destroyed. This helped show the world that magiteck could be used for more than fighting and war.

As of current writing many nations employ magiteck devices though none as much as the Leothen Empire. While the cost of suck devices can be expensive and require experienced mechanics to maintain the benefits are undeniable. From disposable soldiers in the worlds time of need to massive airships commanding the skies. The advent and progression of magiteck has greatly shaped the landscape of Solesia and will undoubtedly have a profound impact on its future.

Post note: While some scholars believe ancient peoples may have employed magiteck in a similar way. (Siting quotes from Sentinel 14) There is not enough evidence to suggest the existence or validity of these claims.
