The Crown of the Ark'Angellis
The Crown of the Ark'angellis are five mountains that were created when the Ark'angellis attacked Solut. Despite being the strongest of the Eorame, the Ark'angellis normally were no match for Solut. In order to take him by surprise, the Ark'angellis created a crown of five mountains, inside of which no magic could be used. It took nearly all the magical power that the Ark'angellis possessed to create a magical seal strong enough to contain Solut.
With his incredible power removed, Solut was unable to defeat the five archangels in physical combat. After an incredible battle, the archangels banished Solut to Ak'arandul. However, because the sealing magic had to be powerful enough to contain Solut, it remained long after the War of Angels was concluded.
The mountains themselves are enormous, each towering over eleven kilometers high. Even with the aid of isegayami, no one has successfully reached or crossed any of the peaks. On account of their origin, the mountains are also known as the Heavenly Spires. Each mountain is named after the archangel that created it. In the north there is Yelevniel, to the northeast lies Anaviel, the northwest mountain is Soloros, the southeastern is Tenan, and the southwestern is Olirundel.
Although they now appear as mountains, the original spell created a dome resting upon five pillars, the entire made completely out of pure gaya. Because of the intensity of the magic, it created physical matter known as gaya'algaya, and it is only found at the Crown of the Ark'angellis. After eons the pillars appear as mountains because of the layers of sediment that and dirt that have piled up around the pillars.
Tourism
Many people journey to the Heavenly Spires for pilgrimages, as it is often seen as the ultimate sign of the conflict between good and evil. The Holy Church of the Ark'angellis has many places for travelers to rest, as the city that lies within the crown can be quite suspect of outsiders. There are various places near the bases of the mountains that provide lodging for outsiders so they do not have to stay inside the city.
Along with the desire to see the city, since it has a completely different culture, and some of the most beautiful buildings (which are made of gaya'algaya), most pilgrims also journey up the mountains, where about three kilometers up on each mountain there is an altar with a temple. Each temple is specific to the archangel that created that mountain.
