Objective

Investigate the reflection of the Torriage Wood Moonwell
 
 

Observations

The Torriage Wood Moonwell's connection is disconnected from the shadowfell.
  The shrine at the Tree of Names is nearing completion.
  The "Speaker of the Shadow Singer" controls the reflection of the moonwell.
  Skitter and Weloh are the same person?

Compass was altered to supposedly improve stability.
 

Operation Details

Skitter was given the compass to handle as we were sent to the moonwell in the Torriage Wood. Exiting the fort led to falling a fair distance into the field of the old fort grounds.
  Using the compass, we traveled to the moonwell much faster than usual and upon arriving to its vicinity, found the snow had evaporated. Continuing in the grass, we were all taken by a song and found ourselves pulled towards the moonwell.
  The song dragon, Kisarana met us at the moonwell when we arrived and referred to Skitter as "Child of the First" with no further explanation. It became clear rather quickly that she knows far more about these structures than she lets on, but she warned us that there was some danger to exploring this one in particular. After our conversation, she left, following a path to the north.
  After our own bit of debate, we decided to follow her at the suggestion of a bit of prayer. I went out to fetch her and found that she was praying at the shrine at the Tree of Names. Waiting for her to finish, I took my own time at the tree and eventually the rest of the party joined me. Shortly after, a man came to finish engraving the shrine.
  Returning to the moonwell, I prepared myself with blindfold and earplugs to prevent outside influence and used the compass to take us through to the reflection of the moonwell. After some brief exploration, I removed my blindfold and earplugs and we investigated the site a bit. It was a near identical structure to the one on the prime material plane, but it was suspended in a void of shadow. A creature the size of a small mountain lumbered off in the distance. An odd discordant melody was faintly audible, which prompted me to put my earplugs back in.
  Eloise attempted to play something while I was deafened and while I could not hear it, it did cause another being to manifest at the site. It identified itself as "The Speaker of the Shadow Singer." It spoke in our minds and assaulted us quite adeptly. The fight attracted the massive creature out in the distance, which began slowly making its way towards us.
  After a bit of fighting, the speaker split into shadows and we were attacked by our own manifested shadows. While most were similar to the shadow creatures we've encountered previously, Skitter's shadow was fully formed and seemed to be a different kobold entirely. We dispatched the shadows readily as the compass reached a state of readiness and the mountainous creature finally reached the platform. We departed moments after witnessing it attack Eloise in some kind of non-physical way.
  When I attempted to pull us back through, I saw that we were passing through several landscapes rather than just the path back to the material. I followed Kisarana's song to return us to the prime material plane. Skitter was now the shadow that he had just dispatched. We left that for later discussion as Kisarana volunteered to send us back to the fort directly. We accepted, and the Jims were not happy about the idea that she was able to break through their security.
