Objective

During one of our previous missions, we were able to collect two extremely rare flowers for the Druid Durella. One of these flowers she is going to be using, and the other provides us with an opportunity.
 
 
  There is an organization of Druid's called the Emerald Enclave. Tavvok wis a member of this organization, along with Uweya Starbright who was in camp briefly as part of the Aegis (now MIA).
 
 
  This is a group of mighty and powerful druids who strive to stop threats to nature, and to maintain balance and order in this world. They are likely dealing with threats far beyond what we are dealing with now, but the hope is to inform them of what is happening here.
 
 
  This extra flower we collected, allows a group of non-members access to this meeting of the Emerald Enclave. I will be going on-behalf of Durella, with the flower as a pass for entry, in order to join the meeting.
 
 
  We are NOT going to ask them directly for help. We are simply going to inform. We must be honest/truthful, graceful, and representatives for not only the Fort, but for the people (ffolk), and the region itself.
 
 
  I have asked you all for a variety of reasons. Tavvok was a past member and knows much of certain events at the camp and that proceed it, and Lethamyr is someone native to the area, who's been directly and greatly impacted by this war.
 
 
  The Emerald Enclave meeting location:

Observations

  • The lands on the mainland of the sword coast (far east), have much different customs than here. Casters are required to register (anyone near Aceso's abilities), and all weapons must be "bounded".

  • we will be ready to sweep the fire through the veil once more if the time comes

  • seems that chosen children from her village left... cowards, but new ones are taking their place

      Rodrick:
     
  • Proposed they "seal off the coast" -- like the scar; others agreed. Aceso tries to make a plea that locking away the coast isn't a good idea, but not sure if they were receptive.

      The Darkness:
     
  • seen this many times before... bleed of the shadow... bits and pieces what what's bleeding through from the fey

  • this time it's a bit stronger

  • reminiscent of before the flame or the fire

      The Purple Mist:
     
  • mist is precursor to a far worse disaster; must be ready to contain

  •  
     
      Dead Three (Bhaal, Bane, Myrkul):
     
  • we are aware of the three’s movement

  •  
  • unfortunate, but we are not ready to deal with them yet

  •  
  • however, we will have one that will bring the three to heel

  •   - but they still strive to find themselves, and isn't ready

    Follow up

  • One of Rodrick's Druid's will be heading to the camp to do an assessment of the "Tree of Storms" to see how we can disabled it -- In a day or two.

    Brief talk with Tel:
     
  • she's preparing the rest of the camp to go to Capital to celebrate taking of the Moonwell

  •  
     
      -Asks her about the enclave
      - the enclave sees "nature" as more than just the forests; you and I; what is to come; what ought to be
      - all living things are part of this force
      - their definition of good might be different than ours
     
     
      Tavvok has an encounter with the cat
      - seems to convince the cat that he will do it eventually.
     
     
      Go to meet Durella:
     
  • she seems to be fiddling with flowers around a tree

  •   - seems to be setting up for our method of travel
      - fussing over the placement of flowers at the base of the tree
     
     
     
  • Talked about Tilson being a cat

  •   - Durella made a comment about how fluffy he was
      - Tilson is unhappy about being a cat; not who he is
      - Durella made a comment "perhaps, who you were..."
     
     
      - the cat jumps down from the roof into Durella's arms
      - she holds it like a baby
     
     
      when you go:
      - when you arrive; tell them what we have discussed
      - they have a variety of duties; might not be totally receptive of it
     
     
      Lethamyr:
      - asks if she can fix his memories
      - Durella: possible something hides them away from you -- arcane; but it could also be that you don't want to remember
      - many substances might be possible to do it, but
     
     
      Aceso asks "I know you've told me that the enclave is made up of good and not so good people, but all with good intent. Can I trust them with everything we've seen? I can trust these people."
      - whole heartedly
     
     
      Cannot get directly there.
      - but between Aceso and I -- we will get us close
     
     
      When you arrive; they should recognize you; as her missive
      - return you when it's concluded.
     
     
      Listen to the sound of the falling water -- it will guide you
     
     
      Durella takes my hand:
      - leads me to the base of the tree
      - touches our hands to the tree
      - leaves shimmer; bark opens
      - tells us to walk through
     
     
      We walk through the tree:
      - does not go well.
      - dry and hot climate
      - hours later in the day; 12 - 1pm already
     
     
      look to the south
      - hint of a much larger civilizations
      - large temple shown in the middle
      - likely to the south.
     
     
      Tavvok:
     
  • listens... waterfall sound is coming from Aceso

  •  
     
      Aceso spins to see if it gets louder/quieter in any direction
     
  • no difference

  •  
     
      head south toward city, see if we can get directions...
      - we start traveling, and see someone approaching
      - 4 humans approaching on horses at speed
     
     
      1 is older and ordained in fancy plate mail, fancy feather in his cap
     
  • other 3 are also armoured

  •  
  • we ask for directions to the moon tower

  •   - the tower is further in northwest (from where we came from)
     
  • asks for our papers

  •   - "we respond, what papers"
     
     
     
  • angry:

  •   - wants our papers
      - we don't have our weapons "bounded"
     
     
      We are separated, with each of the guards talking to Tavvok and Lethamyr. The older gentleman talks to Aceso.
     
  • one hand is on his sword

  •  
  • no papers

  •  
  • weapons not bounded

  • Told him we are here to meet a few druids

  •  
  • asks how we got here

  •   - told him we were teleported here -- walked through a tree
     
  • look of concern on his face

  •  
     
      This older gentleman to do a "test" on us to make sure we don't possess magic that is required to be registered with the kingdom:
     
  • has an orb, that we need to touch to prove we don't have magic that is too strong; requires registration

  •   - 6 lines or lower
     
     
      Tavvok: nothing
      Lethymrr: 2 lines
      Aceso: 6 lines...
     
     
      He yells out, "GET THE MAGE!", and they draw their weapons.
      - Lethamyr attacks one of them with magic...
      - Tavvok yells "do not kill them! No ranged!"
     
     
      Aceso doesn't attack and tells them we don't want to do this.
     
     
      Tavvok is pushed to the ground and grappled.
     
  • they yell "stop resisting!"

  •  
  • they smack him

  •  
     
      Aceso is knocked down, restrained, and manacled.
      Tavvok Manacled and gets his.
      Lethamyr knocked prone, and then manacled
     
     
      Tavvok breaks the manacles! Yells out "I'm not going to prison!"
     
  • knocks the guy off him, and runs

  •  
     
      Aceso tries to convince Tavvok that let's try resolve this peacefully
      - Tavvok says "Lethamyr attacked them with magic first, are you crazy?"
      - continues to fight them
      - Tavvok: "Aceso, don't give up. This isn't something where we get out alive!"
     
     
      Tavvok runs, and attacks each of them.
     
  • Aceso heals, and supports from a distance, but doesn't attack

  •  
  • Lethamyr hits them with several spells

  •  
     
      Aceso scares the horses
      - charges toward us
     
     
     
     
     
  • Eventually Tavvok knocks them all out, except 1, who gives up

  •  
  • we tell the last one to sit there, and say nothing

  • put them on the side of the road

  • we scare the horses away

      As we head back north-west, we parallel the road but, a little way into the forest
      - starts turning to a bit of a Marsh
     
     
      wonder for an hour or an hour and a half in the forest along the road
      - a whole bunch of horses rush south on the road, and the cry of man in the direction from what we come
      - we see a quarter mile ahead on the road (we are still in the forest)
      - an outpost
      - soldiers gathered around
      - horses we scared away pulled to the side
      - obviously looking for us
     
     
     
  • decided we need to push deeper into the forest, to the west

  •   - waterfall grows louder
     
     
     
  • slowly but surely the sound of the waterfall continues to grow louder and louder

  •  
  • 20 to 25 minutes (around 3pm at this point)

  •   - hear something unnatural
      - glimmers of campfire
      - hear the subtle sound of voices
      - sounds foreign
     
     
     
  • continues to get louder and louder as we approach and get closer

  •   - sound of the music would grow louder; caravan of wagons
      - party and festivities
     
     
     
     
      Tavvok goes up to talk to her:
     
  • looks like healthy refugees

  •   - all these caravans are in a circle, and some sort of festivities within
     
     
      Tavvok approaches and talks to them:
      - lady's name is Aravia
      - these are the Sashween; one of the many tribes of the plains
      - a caravan on a pilgrimage; been displaced; by construction
      - leads us to the scar
      - The missive is from far away; he knows many things
      - missive of the grey wastes
     
     
     
     
      seneschal of the great waste; leading us to the great scar? shal?
      this area is the "Alimarsh"...
     
     
      Aceso knows:
      - missive of the grey wastes
      - the grey waste is not a great place by any means
      - another name for the nightsinger... is the "greater power of the grey waste"
     
     
      walking becomes harder and harder
      - becoming more and more marshy as we continue
     
     
      Sound of the amulet overbearing:
      - once small trees growing larger and larger
     
     
      far in the south as the sun dips
      - a second light glows in the south... odd.... then fades leaving the sunset
     
     
      all Aceso can hear is the sound of the medallion as it grows louder and louder
      - the plants are moving and reacting to our presence... making way for us
     
     
      massive structures around three trees
      - floating creatures; faint orange light to them; all around in the shrubs
      - pixies
     
     
      let them know we're here on behalf of thou who represents a waterfall falling into a still pond
     
     
      Pixies look us over:
     
  • pixies seem fine with Lethamyr

  •  
  • one is interested in Tilson, "is he supposed to be a cat. can I pet you?"

      Tavvok is taken to another area... seems he's in trouble for not reporting sooner.
     
     
      We enter a chamber of people, all around a round table.
     
     
      Blonde hair woman:
      "Was not expecting you, missive of the quiet one who protects the glave."
     
  • Who sent you on behalf of Eldath

  •   - "explains that was the Druid Durella, who is Eldath"
     
     
      The members want to talk about a variety of issues, and we will get to the other issues in time.
     
     
      Members:

      I assure all of you; soon they will be ready; we will be ready
      we did not expect the first group to go missing as they did; we will bring them to heel
      we will be ready to sweep the fire through the veil once more if the time comes

      There is mention of direct action, and they ask Aceso his opinion:

  • but there are other ways, beyond direction action, if they wish not to do that - provide indirect support, resources, etc to those who need it

      From Aceso's perspective, these people assume that he has have a wealth of knowledge of and knows everything they are speaking of.
     
     
      Tavvok enters the chamber at this time.

  • perhaps we should seal the coast

      Aceso:
     
  • tries to make a plea that locking away the coast isn't a good idea

  •   - easy solution... better to regrow it
      - could fester

      - we have made some progress as of late, as you've had some successes it seems
      - the war that you see, if a fraction of what is at stake
      - the world is at war; each bit of it
      - her (the nightsinger) grasp grows stronger; stronger than it's been in a long, long time
     
     
     
     
      Do you think that vampire witch on the coast caused the destruction on the coast, because it isn’t?
     
  • Snowden is but a pawn in the Lady of Losses larger plan

      Aceso says:
     
  • yes, but it's all connection. Losses in any one area is going to make her stronger in others in time. Even if she is a pawn, she is a strong pawn. One who is making gains, conquering, and helping the strategy of the nightsinger in many ways. Dealing with the pawn will help stop the larger plot and plan. Everything is connected.

      - certainly, can do make efforts to do little things to tap away at this war; but no guarantee that anything could be stopped or halted; must be prepared
      - in preparing, some might have to die
      - would be remiss to not listen to the missive of the quiet one
      - not heard from her in 8/9 winters
     
     
      Others:
      - direct intervention from her is unheard of. So, what is she doing there.

  • there is a tempest, a storm -- will of the gods

      Aceso peaked back into the door after we exited:
     
  • let them know that the enemy can intercept long range magical messages

  •   Gorum:
      - we are aware; these are not new tricks to track the royals
      - "it is disconcerting that you know about this... how did you... how long... never mind… does not matter"
      - thread carefully as you move forward
      - the stone that was given Tavvok -- it is safe.

  • Tintan - if he still lives; find Weloh Tilson and give it to him

      Tintan wants to come, but Aceso says they would know... and would get in trouble
