Objective

Determine what is killing Ffolk in the hunting grounds northwest of Caer Callidyrr and eliminate it.
 
 

Observations

  • The Lord's Alliance has an official embassy within a mile of Caer Callidyrr that has a teleportation circle. Taylor runs and manages it. Vicount Kendrick (3rd in succession) has an office there.

  • There are werewolves around the capitol, and have a connection to a butcher within the city. The werewolves worshipped Malar.

    Follow up

  • Track down the escaped werewolf and eliminate them. And either recover or destroy the cup, skull, and dagger that was important enough for them to gather before running.

  • Investigate the butcher at 1284 Low Street (lower quarter).

  • Determine if the werewolves are members of the Block Bloods and if they are under the command of General Orin.

  • Determine why there were two people marked by Elriza's top generals sent to our embassy to die.

    Operation Details

    Jacob Zorky briefed us that we will go to the (new) northern output and deal with a problem that the guards there have not been able to, but had no actual details on what the problem was. We guessed that the upper right corner of the inverted triangle on the teleport circle would take us to the right place, and it did.
      When we arrived, we were greeted by Taylor who essentially manages the embassy, seeing to the needs of whoever is there. There is a small supply room with tools and basic equipment, including five sets of medium sized snowshoes.
      Vicount Kendrick (3rd in the line of succession) was there in his office, but we did not meet him. He had no interest in us and was busy.
      Tahla (female human, long blonde hair, 20s) was there and was to be our guide. She is a scout for Kendrick's army. Friendly, but shy and nervous as we were mostly non-humans and had a lot of magic. Does well with explosives, but not a combatant.
      We learned that the problem is that something has begun dwelling in a nearby cave within the hunting grounds just north of the city. It's smart and has been setting traps. And that four men have gone missing in the last three days.
      We head out to the hunting grounds where people have been dying. Along the way, we found many bear traps set up and came across a hunter. We warned them of the danger and continued on. The hunter stalked us, and once we arrived at the cave believed to be the holdout of the problem, the stalking hunter observed us. There was a large symbol of Malar under weak ice in front of the cave.
      After a long standoff, Luminos scouted the cave and was ambushed by a werewolf. It was then that we engaged the hunter as well, who transformed into a were wolf. While eliminating the one outside, the one inside would escape through a hidden tunnel. They took with them a cup, skull, and dagger.
      Luminos, Sketch, and myself pursued through the cave but set off a trap. The gas it emitted ignited from a torch and exploded. The tunnel collapsed as we barely made it to the other side, east of the cave. We were unable to find tracks of the werewolf.
      Returning to the cave, Tahla presented her explosives to us and it was decided to destroy the cave after retrieving two intact human bodies. On the way back, we disarmed 17 bear traps that we could find. We managed to bring back four of them.
      Within a few hundred feet of the embassy, we came across two people. One was dead from the cold, the other nearly there. We attempted aid, but eventually noticed the mark of the eleven on them. So we let her fulfill her wish to die and waited while the cold took her.
