Objective

Mark and Track Darkness Progress

Observations

Dispelling the darkness isn’t recommended. It’s “godly” in nature. Resting near the darkness spawns a hostile shadow character.

Follow up

1. The party encountered an Orc patrol. Patrol guard mentioned that there is a slave camp to the Southwest of the outpost.       2. Follow up on Valas’ impairment and Lark’s missing shadow. Dispel magic or curse was unable to resolve their injuries.

Preparation Details

Picked up some paint and pitons to mark trees.

Operation Details

The party ventured to the Southern outpost to investigate the Darkness anomaly. Before heading out Djims provided a cryptic message/apology for a mysterious person. Valas stated it would handled delicately.       We would venture South towards the Darkness in the early winter morning. However, through the wooded landscape we spotted a orc patrol 100 ft.away. Halar and Dickens would bait the patrol while the everyone stayed hidden. Dickens attempted to charm the orc, but instead he recruited the party to an orc slave camp. This news alarmed the party, and we quickly initiated a quick combat.       After combat the party staged the orc’s death for the next patrol and planned a second ambush. Two orcs and a frightening monstrosity arrived shortly afterwards. It was a difficult encounter. Valas received a severe physical impairment that couldn’t be dispelled or repaired. The party moved South towards the Darkness to quickly finish the objective.       The party would find a cat with purple wings in the woods. The cat is familiar to a dangerous liaison that was nearby. We left the familiar alone and continued the journey.       We attempted a short rest 90ft. from the Darkness, but Larks shadow attacked us suddenly. We quickly attacked it, but we noticed that Lark’s physical shadow didn’t not return. The party traveled back to the outpost to tend to our medical afflictions.
