Horrors of Hickorydale 6: Sneaky Scouting

 

Objective

Scout rest of Hickorydale to learn about town.
 
 

Observations

Uh hello reader, I am Teddie. Teddie will tell reader about Hickorydale.
 
 
  When Teddie and friends got to Hickorydale, no one fell asleep this time. When Teddie went ahead to make sure nobody was watching stairs, Teddie found Blue Person. Did not present as any one gender. Blue Person seemed nice, looked like cross between water genasi and fey person.
 
 
  Blue Person said they were traveler who settled in Hickorydale. Can speak lots of languages including Sylvan. Said that they talked to farmers in regular day, claimed to have been there for last few weeks but did not encounter Blue Person before today. Teddie does not trust Blue Person but they did not lie to Teddie from what Teddie could tell, only avoiding answering directly.
 
 
  Teddie and friends explored big building, turned out to be Town Hall. Blue Person said that Town Hall was not used often. Inside town hall were people; Young Boy, Book Girl, Desk Mother, and Lobby Lady. They acted normal when Blue Person was around, then when Tide's owl when went back they were still like other times when Teddie and friends see people of Hickorydale.
 
 
  Teddie got to sneak away when Tide and Keegan distracted others, explored Town Hall. Main meeting room is western middle room, eastern room is a courtroom that has not been used. Southeast room is also library. North room Teddie found man that did not move. Teddie thinks that did not move because Blue Person did not know that Teddie was there to make him move. Teddie made small cut on person's forehead, left room, and then when Teddie came back man had cut healed as if wasn't there.
 
 
  In northwest building, Teddie found prison cell. Teddie went downstairs and only found storage. There is backroom by desk in prison, but before Teddie could open Teddie was stopped by scary person. Fast Elvish Person was there, told Teddie not to go there. Teddie did not go.
 
 
  When Teddie and friends left town hall and went to inn. Bearded Bartender gave food and drinks that did not hurt Teddie and friends yet. While Teddie was drinking, Blue Person talked in Teddie's head to tell Teddie that they knew that Teddie was snooping. Told Teddie not to do it again.
 
 
  Teddie and friends were discouraged from exploring any further, so Teddie did not check on farm portal. Teddie did get to look at hot tub portal, but hot tub was just hot tub. Teddie would assume that other portal is gone as well.
 
 
  Teddie and friends were allowed to leave and come back at any time by Blue Person. Nobody gave Teddie any names, and did not give names to Tide or Keegan either. Said that names were inconvenient and let Teddie and friends call them whatever we want.
 
 
  When Teddie teleported back with others, Teddie was given scary vision. Strange tree, with purple vines. Teddie was very scared of tree, but was not able to figure out more before Teddie got to go home.
 

Follow up

Teddie does not think it is smart to go back to Hickorydale yet. Until group is big enough to go to door that was not explored, Teddie does not think there is any place left to explore.
 
 
  Teddie think best way to go forward is to go to Feywild from other portal. Help Lady Tasha with last undead problem, talk to Lady Tasha to see what she has learned from Feywild end. This group if alone should try to go back to sites of first two portals.
 
 
  If Teddie can get big enough group, Teddie want to defeat undead on other side of farmland portal, and have group in Hickorydale to see reaction. Teddie think that there is connection between Hickorydale and Feywild, so Teddie want to see reaction of people on Hickorydale side when last portal is dealt with.
 

Preparation Details

Teddie told friends that if someone fell asleep going to Hickorydale, let them sleep for one minute. Teddie and friends did not fall asleep so did not matter.
