Objective
Kendrick forces found an adrift Snowdown ship. Recon it.Observations
If Blythe Blood is made in Kythyss and sailed, then:1. We should expect creatures similar or worse than Blythe, in Kythyss.
2. A blockade of Blythe may help in weakening the forces in the city.
Follow up
Sample of 'Blythe Blood' and given to Maj. Rem. Recommend the healer and mages coordinate for study.Preparation Details
Immediately from return of our prior assignments we were redeployed to Cobh. Maj. Rem had secured a small Kendrick ship and crew to sail us to Snowdown vessel that had be spotted adrift. We long rested on the said outward.Upon encountering the vessel, it did indeed seem to be deserted. We raided the Captain's Quarters and found the Captains Log. Study of the log showed the ship was under the command of a Captain Cornelius Schustanich, recently anointed by Elrizia herself. Present mission was to run supplies from Kythyss to Blythe, though prior entries advise they had made sail to the Iron Bay as well. Log indicates the cargo was damaged on 29 Nightal, 1493 and began leaking to the ship. The ship itself began to mutate. By 2 Hammer the ship was fully become an living, though undead, entity. 3 Hammer was final entry which discussed abandoning the vessel, but later exploration of the ship suggests most of the crew unable to do so.
We proceeded below deck and encounter 3 zombie crewmen, who were literally connected via tentacle to a tissue tree running throughout the ship. While connected to the tree, even when felled the zombies would rise again. After severing their connection we finally killed them.
We located the remains of the cargo, barrels of some sort of black liquid, that until smarter people can do better, Erik is calling 'Blythe Blood'. Erik obtain a sample. Unfortunately he did so during battle and had direct contact. Ace seems to have cured the ailment now but Erik would recommend safety precautions in the future. Mage hand, tongues, etc...
Deck 3 was relatively clear by comparison.
Bottom deck was a literal cesspool of the remains of the entire crew. From that several amalgams of body parts rose to fight. At the base of the flesh tree was the ship's literal beating heart. We killed everything. Upon departure Ezra and Erik set fire to every burnable item mid ship. We left with the ship fully ablaze behind us.
