Objective
Attack the The Piscary food stores and Festival Ground drink supplies.Observations
Piscary destroyed. Drink vats, 1 of 4 destroyed.-also-
Interview with local indicates that Blythe inhabitants were human originally, then mutated into their current form, from the food and drink.
-Food seems to be the primary instigator in change, (the primary processing plant destroyed this mission.)
-Drink is reserved for the elders as children not allowed to imbibe.
-interview with local adv there is an element of randomness when an new party is admitted into the citizenry. They are forced to drink, if they survive they seem to join the masses. If they do not, their bodies are taken away... and we suspect they are used for food.
-Recon suggests IF anyone is able to be saved from this, at present, it MAY be the children, but Erik view this and HIGHLY unlikely as even the (estimate) 8 year old we spoke with referred to their prior human form as 'weak and ill' and their new mutated form as 'better'.
That kind of brainwashing would be far outside the management of a typical fort team.
Follow up
Sample of feed returned to camp for Lt. Hyde-White and presumably Aceso's study.Preparation Details
bought and prepared 5 blankets and covered them in manure, thus creating smelly beggar costumes available to the Fort.(Check with Erik but they hang in the stable for ... recharging.)
Operation Details
Team teleported to the Southern Base.Set course SE. Significant snow storm.
Did encounter something approximately an hour into the darkness field.
We attempted to evade and it seemed to evade us. No visual to report.
Continued to Blythe.
Found an child, estimated 8 years old, male, named Emanuel.
He was literally in a cage being used as bait for a pack of two headed wolves.
We freed him and eliminated the dogs.
Fortunately Emanuel was willing to tell us of Blythe. The children are put to work, largely in the morning, cleaning up from the ceremony from the night previous night. He didn't report to work so he was taken and used for bait as noted.
Emanuel reports both his mother and father work for the city.
The city seems to have mutated into separate classes.
A larger 'hulk' class that is used for the heavy lifting and fighting.
An average sized mutant class, who also serves in processing the drink.
-Relative details of interview noted above.
Emanuel lead us into the southern side of the Blythe, again avoiding the bear trap perimeter.
We entered through the Residential area. Buildings are dilapidated few taller than two stories. Emanuel hid us in his tool shed where we waited for the nightly ceremony to begin.
As the vast majority of the population was heading to the town square and the drink vats, we opted to head to the Piscary. As orders were to hit both, Laef volunteered to attack town square alone as a sniper attack.
Remainder of team attacked the Piscary which was barely guarded with only two entities, a flying eagle and a tall slender figure with sack of multiple eyes for a head. Both of those eliminated. The Piscary was literally set ablaze and the silo next was sent crashing down, thanks to one Corporal Tilson.
Laef was successful in exploding 25% of the drink vats. At which time the locals turned on to him. He evaded capture, met up with remainder of team and we covered our tracks as we returned to southern base and fort proper.
Erik would recommend an Citation of Bravery added to Laef's record. And coming from me, that should say something.
