F-23 Nightingale

The F-23 Nightingale starfighter is a versatile, advanced design, developed to perform a wide range of missions for the Navy, anything from dogfighting to precision strikes. Based on excellent flight characteristics and its looks, it is a favourite among many pilots. The pilots describe flying the F-23 Nightingale as if the fighter was just an extension of themself.   Within the Navy, the F-23 Nightingale is typically launched from the Navy fleet carriers but it can also be found on some of the larger capital ships where it is used to scout and provide an extra amount of firepower should the ship need it.   While it cut the fighters endurance from 6 hours during combat missions, the F-23 Nightingale is capable of flying in atmospheres but its staying-power is reduced down to 3,5 hours

Power Generation

Fusion reactor with auxiliary plasma turbines

Propulsion

2 primary thrusters for main propulsion
Vectoring manoeuvring jets for agility in combat

Weapons & Armament

The F-23 Nightingale is armed with 2 nose-mounted rapid-fire coil-gun Modular hardpoints under the wings and body allow the fighter to be mounted with more mission-specific load-outs, like missiles, bombs or reconnaissance pods.   Likewise, the fighter can also be mounted with light torpedoes to engage larger ships or stations.

Armor and defense

The The F-23 Nightingales armour consists of a lightweight, layered design with a composite design that is meant to absorb impacts.    The fighter is at the same time also equipped with flare and chaff dispensers for evading missiles and pods that can jam or disrupt enemy targeting systems.
