For reasons still unknown, earth and nature grew increasingly unstable. Mountains shifted, winds sweeped plains of life, and the skies roared. Old roads crumbled, water ways became too dangerous and the great threads that once bound civilizations unraveled into silence.
In the chaos, Pilgrims emerged—wandering messengers, caravan guards and mediators who traveled where no one else dared, carrying news, wares, relics, and whispered truths between isolated cities and distant nations.
Some were ordinary, hardened only by the road. Others were gifted, touched by strange insight or magic. Perhaps one became the other. Or perhaps the path made no such distinction. Soon the gifted ones were called Awakened.
