The FANGs

The First Astanean Nest Guard (FANG) aims to protect Astana and its secrets. Its memberbase consists mostly of Virex, Threadcallers, and Lycosa. All of their members receive a special Glyph called Vowburn and gain access to all Glyphes developed by the FANG

There are also honorable members that project the influence of Astana outside its boarders like the Pilgrim Group Wet & Fluffy.

The FANGs have a soft hirarchy with Arachnael at its top and Velkith and Astoria as his second in command.

There is also a secret Vanean clan called "The Unseen" that is part of the FANGs. These spiders are well equipped for special reconnaissance and surveillance missions. The First Unseen is called Ark, a spider with the ability to split into a thousand smaller versions of itself. Ark also acts as a communication hub for the whole organization.

The FANGS were founded by Arachnael to address multiple issues at once.

1. Firstly, the eastern Mushroom Forests were infested by hostile creatures taking many Vanean lifes and inhibiting the expansion of the city.
2. Secondly, the strong Virex (back then they were mostly refered to as Fangborn - a racist slur) were aimlessly strolling around in the outer tunnels of Astana without sense or purpose trying to avoid the scorn of the other Vaneans.
3. Lastly, in the past whenever a strong creature found its way to Astana it would wreak havoc until it left or until the Old Ones finally decided to descent from their Tower to take on the invader.

With the Virex joining the defense efforts it was a breeze clearing out the eastern Mushroom Forest and establishing an outpost (The Vaneaguard) to mitigate the risk of being invaded by powerful creat
