History
While all of the Temurae's history is written down, they did not use paper until the Varli made contact in 119 of the Age of Exploration. Reading the tattoos and tribal markings of the Temurae people, however, tells you all you need to know.
Reportedly raised out of the sea by Tangi-Sea Lord (an ancient elemental diety), the Temurae have existed since before the Age of the Divine. You wouldn't know it, however, as their society stagnated technology-wise somewhere in between the stone and bronze age. That is not to say that they did not grow as a people, expanding across their island home of Anga
There is nothing more important to the Temurae than the Tribe. Lead by a Deep Cheiftan, their word is final. If they deny a marriage, that marriage is not meant to be. They bar an island from settlement, that island might as well not exist. The Chieftans all operate underneath the Abyss Lord, who rules over the capital of Pihopa. While the title of Abyss Lord is hereditary, it can be challenged at any time. When this happens, the current Abyss Lord and the challenger will descend into the golf of Tangi and whoever returns with the grander kill will be granted the title of Abyss Lord. Within the golf of Tangi, at the bottom of a trench in the seafloor, lies the Eteka Abyss. A melding of our reality and another, not at all understood realm. From the Abyss, crawls impossible creatures. Each one different, but all just as violent and merciless. Temuraen society has evolved around the sported hinting of these creatures. Tattooing their greatest hunts on their bodies and wearing the bones as trophies. The resources extracted from these creatures also make up much of the Temuraen economy as they are sold to nations across the world.
Having constructed a naval power to rival the largest in the world, their ships enforce their territory harshly. Close with another naval power to the north, the Nantutek Thasselocracy, their close relation has allowed each one to overcome their own shortcomings and grow despite the lack of certain resources in each place. With a situation like this, one might think that the Temurae would welcome another power that could provide them with the resources that they don't have access to. This is not the case, however, and the Varli, who have been trying over the last decade to create a trade monopoly in the area have earned the ire of the Temurae. Although not outright hostile, the Temurae do not appreciate the Varli encroachment, nor the fact that they have developed a close relationship with the Nantutek.

Foreign Relations
The Temurae have always been close with the Nantutek since their societies came into contact with each other. Each one is acclimated to a different environment, tropical for the Temurae and arctic for the Nantutek, allowing the two to provide each other with resources they could not provide for themselves. The Nantutek also have provided industrial products to the Temurae for the past century, making up for their lack of industry.
The Varlish Dukedom, who were the first to make contact with the North Western Region, have put a lot of money into Temurae, valuing the Abyss pearls that the Temurae extract from the creatures that crawl from the Eteka Abyss. This relation has angered the Nantutek, however, as relations between them and the the Varlish Dukedom have gone south recently.
Agriculture & Industry
The parts of the Abyss Creatures that the Temuraen hunt make up the entirety of their economy, with Abyss pearls rocketing to the top in value. A valuable arcane component, the Abyss Pearls are used in the construction of dee sea vessels and many naval ships due to their ability to ward of water pressure and remain buoyant in all forms of liquid.
Education
Not many Temurae are educated in the traditional sense and there hasn't been much of an effort to change that. Education is still waiting to catch up with the modernization of the rest of the nation.
Mythology & Lore
An interesting religion, when compared to the others of the world, the Spirits of the Waves sit confrontationally with the Temurae. Believed by the Temurae to have been created by Tangi Sea Lord, the Spirits are supposedly challenges placed by the Sea Lord. Should the Temurae slay the Spirits, it is said that they shall be raised up to sail the waves with Tangi himself. These Spirits are not intangible, as well, as the bones of Ma'aka sit proudly on display in the abode of the Abyss Lord in Pihopa.
