Brevet Major
The rank of Brevet Major is one that was created out of a need when Lord General Napoleon Letizia gave the orders to reconnoitre areas of the Sleipner Sector and Reconnaissance Battalion were created.
Appointment
The rank is bestowed as required through an order and billet receievd from the Operations Director, Staff Colonel Juha Jussila directly, or in his name.
Duties
A Brevet Major will be the Commanding Officer for a Reconnaissance Battalion and will act accordingly to make sure appropriate duty reports have been completed and sent to Fort Forward for processing and that the battalion is fit for duty and equipped and manned appropriately
Responsibilities
Upon receiving the rank and assignment, the Brevet Major will be repsonsible for the completion of the given mission- typically providing intelligence on a specific area of the Sleipner Sector. They will also be responsible for issuing legal and effect orders during combant and any failures to do so, or complete the mission, will be met with sanctions desrving of sucha senior rank of any attached Commissars or the Lord General Militant himseld
Benefits
Receiving this temporary promotion is seen as a promising sign that the officer in question is considered highly by their superiors, who want to test them to see if they are ready for full promotion and, unless their mission is a failure, they can safely assume a promotion or accolade will be theirs upon return to the Kulak System.
Whilst deployed however, they are given the authority and autonomy to act upon any and all information at their disposal to accomplish their given objectives, without the need of getting permission from Command HQ
