Werewolves of Briar glen
Summary
Exert taken from “The myths and legends of the northern duchies”
The legend of werewolves in the area surrounding Briar glen as persisted for many years. Although the story varies slightly from village to village there are many similarities.
The most common variant is that on the darkest night of each month most people lock themselves within their houses or seek sturdy shelter. They do this as they believe that during this dark night werewolves come out of hiding in the nearby forests and caves and come hunting. A alleged survivor of one of these events was a farmer and his farm hands who were caught out of town during the night, he relayed that they heard growling and howling coming from the forest before they were eventually attacked by large monsters covered in jet black fur with blazing red eyes, they proceeded to grab two of the farm hands in their jaws and claws and drag them screaming back into the dark forest. The farmer said he could hear the screams of the boys for a long time as the rest cowered hoping the wolves wouldn’t come back. This is an unconfirmed story but matches many of the descriptions from other accounts.
