The Second Espur-Duchy War
The Conflict
Prelude
Just before the war tensions were rising due to the Duchies placing a higher tax on any foreign goods being traded through Highfall, this was to increase trade through the other cities and punish the leaders of Highfall for trying to increase their power. In response to this the leaders of Highfall requested that the The Confederation of Espur come and take the city, the confederation agreed and sent troops to occupy the city. Upon the request of the Highfall council the The Confederation of Espur mobilised around 6000 troops from the nearby regions to take control of the city. They did not expect heavy opposition as they had been invited in; the duchies believed differently. They didnt believe the Highfall council would really run to the confederation, so they only sent a small force led by Dravor Greybank, numbering only 1000.
