July-August '08
This was the first (and only) 4th Edition game set in Sirel. Played over three sessions in late July, early August 2008, it ended with the party unsuccessful, though alive.
Setting
The game took place in Imperial Centre, particularly the city of Owkust and the Southern Highlands, in the year 703 AR. The PCs also ventured into the Underdark beneath the Southern Highlands, and used a teleport circle that may have taken them outside of Imperial Center, though their destination wasn't precisely known.Summary of Events
The PCs had come to Imperial Center in search of riches, where they were hired by the Master of Censuses for the Southern Highlands to find out what had happened to the missing shepherds and ranchers in the area. Their first stop, Blackwall Keep, was commanded by Jalas Orvan, who the Master of Censuses suspected of being involved in the disappearances. He was snivelingly helpful and obsequious, and related details on the missing people, but insisted they had just moved away. "Can't blame 'em, what with all the troubles these days." The PCs decided to check the home of a family Orvan had said recently disappeared. It turned out they had actually disappeared quite some time ago. Also, faint traces of a struggle were found, but no bodies. The PCs returned to Blackwall Keep in the early twilight, only to notice the keep's stable's door had been broken down, and a dead horse lay there. As they approached to investigate, they were attacked by quaggoths, troglodytes, and a trio of drow. The drow didn't put up much of a fight, though their leader had to be chased into the keep itself. One of the drow warriors was captured alive, and Jalas Orvan was found, nearly dead. He spat a curse at the "treacherous dark elves", then eagerly agreed to Myros' offer of being raised from the dead (for a price). The PCs interrogated the drow, finding out where they had left the Underdark, then returned to Owkust, to deliver her to the Master of Censuses.Characters
