How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth

Started in September 2005; ran until the end of April 2008.

Setting

The game took place mostly within Sizeru, though occasional forays into the Shadowlands occurred, and Qing-jao had a large influence on events. A handful of outer planes were even visited, as well as the continent of Carath. The game ended in Vedakhara, specifically the ruins of Vedakhara.

Summary of Events

We'll try to keep this as brief as we possibly can.
The group originally consisted of Kenji, Saori, Twen, Viriki and Keitaro. They were hired by Ozaka Zataki, adviser to the Daimyo Masuhato Tsubiro, to act as a liaison between the hamen of Annyan Valley and its samurai. They completed a couple of missions together to gain each other's trust. Eventually, after being attacked by a snake-like construct, they discovered a mysterious jar-world. They cleared the jar world and then decided that it was the perfect mobile base for them to use. Not shortly afterwards, they were hired directly by the Ozaka again to investigate the old ruins of a nearby watchtower as several children had gone missing and were last seen playing in that particular area. They were also asked to "clean" the basement of any creatures they were to come across because there were plans in place to rebuild the watchtower. During their mission, they did manage to save all the children, save for one who was unfortunately killed. Saori also took it upon herself to play with the children's minds causing them all to have mental aversions to the game "hide-and-go-seek". During their clean sweep of the watchtower's basement, the group of bumbling imbeciles also made a couple of important discoveries. First was when a vargouille tried to kiss Twen. Normally when this happens, the person kissed becomes a vargouille, however when you factor in Twen's extraordinary luck, the vargouille actually turned into Asa, whom the party believes to be one of the seven winds. Secondly, Kenji came across Midori, who was practicing with a Nagi-maki to keep herself from going insane. Turns out the Nagi-maki is a major artifact, but we'll get to that later. Finally the most important of their discoveries was a large gate in a hidden chamber of the basement. After much deliberation, the party decided to venture forth into the portal. They emerged on the otherside, in the Pure City of the shadowlands. The party actually expected something like this, so they were sure to bring several pieces of jade with them. In the city, the party came across a traveling caravan from El-Sharad. This is how they met up with Jhan Tae and Quarhim, and unfortunately this is also how they met up with Nadir Al-Faraji and his barber, Rashad Min Darahas . They all decided that it would be safest if they travelled together, so the ventured across The Shadowlands together. Eventually after much walking and fighting with Oni, they emerged from The Shadowlands and entered Tomagan Province. While staying at a nearby inn, the party came across Feristro and his wife Uinda, though the party did not know exactly whom they were. Saori attempted to read Uinda's mind, and became knocked unconcious for her troubles. While depositing her in the jar "gently" Kenji made a discovery with the spider's he had posted to guard the jar. They caught an intruder, who turned out to be Midori. After returning to the inn, the party discovered that they were no longer in their present time, and the portal had not only transported them to The Shadowlands, but a hundred and fifty-four years into the past.
To be continued later. Side note, I don't think this is even the half-way point.
