Ascension of the Weaver

The Ascension of the Weaver is a festival celebrated by drow, primarily in Lonevras but also by drow enclaves in other communities.   It honors Lolth, a granddaughter of Irone, who fled the extraplanar strife before the Seal. She urged her community to follow her underground, where she could protect them. When she and her companions came to an impassable crevasse, she enlisted the help of spiders in the caverns to help her weave a magical bridge that helped everyone to safety. When Irone was able to seal away the planes, she offered Lolth an opportunity to be Exalted. Lolth declined the honor, as she had not sacrificed her life as others had. She retained her divine heritage and is said to protect her children underground to the modern day.
