Vegum
Origin
Vegum erupted from the dismantled loins of a brutal warlord that reigned over his country with an iron fist when an orcish champion cleaved the man cleanly in half with a single swing. Arriving fully grown, Vegum conjured a crown of platinum and cold iron and placed it on the orcs head before enlarging the chair the former warlord had sat atop. He explained to the orc champion that there were to be no warlords, and that he was chosen by fate and now the divine to rule justly and fairly over his new people, and as would his children until his bloodline proved unfit.
Places of Worship
Vegum has no formal churches or temples, but is often said to be worshiped whenever a ruler sits in their throne. It is common practice in the old world, especially within Coalrite to hide the symbol of the first crown within the decorations of a throne room to symbolize one's right to rule, as Vegum is always watching and could melt their crown at any time.
Followers
Vegum is often privately worshiped by loyalists to royalty, such as private guards, court advisors, or the children of the current ruler. While it's rare for a commoner to regularly worship Vegum, it is not uncommon to hear them mutter a prayer in thanks whenever their ruler does a kind or wise act. Generally, his followers are people proud of their station within society and think of themselves as rulers in some small way, such as owners of large businesses or captains of the guard, and those that treat their higher rung in society with respect and decency, may be rewarded with some of Vegum's power.
