History

Founding

Originally founded in the Golden Expanse, the Silver Striders were founded in a small kingdom, Talvera by a rag-tag group of former guardsmen. This group of 5 repeat slayers and survivors of various unfortunately common monsters like Cyclops, Trolls, and Owlbears quickly became the "elite" among the average guards and people of Talvera, and as a result, were unofficially granted the name of the "Lions guard".   As the 5 started to grow in fame they would often be requested by name by various wealthy merchants and the king himself. Realizing the static pay and the barely average lifestyle of being on the king's payroll not being worth their lives, the group decided to split off and start their own monster-slaying company. Now avid wanders of Goldscape and the neighboring nations, they found themselves in both high demand and without a proper home. After a few generous payrolls, the group decided to settle in instead of wander, both to make a new home for themselves and to hopefully recruit other like-minded warriors to expand their quickly growing business.  

Modern Day

  With a headquarters now located within Goldscapes borders, but outside of any kingdom's walls, they often require those seeking their aid to send letters or travel the now safer roads to their headquarters. Making a small fort for themselves, that seemingly grows in population every day, it is now common for them to build small branches outside of Goldscape and often be sought by outsiders for their expertise.   Notably, the Silver Striders do not have a central library or source of knowledge for information they gather on the monsters they slay, but instead keep relevant information sparsely in each branch, and prefer to train recruits on the job instead of via study.   After the Second Arrival, when magic changed and new monsters arose, the Silver Striders found themselves having to relearn all about the monsters they hunt, and as a result, lost a large amount of members and had to close branches in all but the Golden Expanse and Windari.
