Crown's Ward Council
A selection of powerful individuals, typically the head of noble families, wealthy guilds and prominent heroes with large public backing. They work directly with the crown of Sidacin as government officials in its constitutional monarchy, and are a critical part of the countries everyday running.
Election
The king may veto any new member that is elected, but the council may never have less than 7 members, and typically has anywhere from 9-12 active members at any one time depending on the current events happening in the country, with more turbulent times typically having smaller councils. To become a member, one needs at least 3 votes of confidence from existing council members or from the current king (who counts as 2 votes). After acquiring votes of confidence, they simply must win majority votes over denials from the existing council.
If any council member is found to have used their position in a way that would directly hurt the nation or crown, such as treason, the "voters of confidence" are considered to owe any reparations to resolve the issue.
Responsibilities
Crown's war Council members act as policymakers, are in charge of taxation rates and collection, maintaining and building public works (parks, bridges, city defenses, etc), and directly oversee various guilds within the city, putting artificial roadblocks in front of them to prevent any particular group becoming too powerful, threatening the throne like during The Golden Divide that broke the Golden Expanse in the first place.
