World Ember 2024 Goals

Week 1

Word Count goal

I am very excited to participate in my first-ever World Ember this year. Having just joined the World Anvil site, there is still a whole whole lot for me to explore. I am really hoping that by participating, I can achieve a two goals:

1. Make and maintain a writing habit: Besides a morning writing journal that I do on paper IRL, I don't have much of a writing habit that as it stands, is a creative outlet for me beyond jotting down thoughts and feelings
2. Develop my first novel: I have been wanting to write a book for almost all my life (no exaggerating, I'm serious). Always wanting to write but not knowing how to get started has always put me in the decision paralysis loop of taking many "writing courses" but not actually starting a novel

With that being said... here is my pledge:

Focus areas

During world ember, there are three areas of world-building that I want to focus my writing in:

Education

In my world, I want to describe:

• Access to education about the world's past
• Specific topics studied

History

I need to flesh out these specifc things about my worlds history:

• Perspective differences

Culture

I want to really have fun diving into the fictional culture of my world through:

• Clothing/Fashion
• Staple Food

• Architecture
• Traditions
• Holidays
• Courting/Marriage
• Religions

Week 2

Elevator pitch

Singuera is a peaceful society built off a century of war and destruction. Everything changes when the main character and her friend discover an underground society threatening to undermine all that their nation has worked toward.
