The Tortle people are from the Valenwood rain forest in southern Arlynn. Their race first appeared during the Age of Dreams when the great spirit of the land "Jai" who embodies the Valenwood transformed them from semi-sentient giant tortoises into a sentient humanoid race. This was done to save them and the land from the ravenges of the Kenku and their "God". For centuries the Tortle and Jai warred with the Kenku until eventually with the help of the Aos tribes they managed to craft a great curse that banished the Kenku's god and transformed the Kenku. The Tortle while typically laid back and non aggressive have an intense and ancient hatred for all Kenku and their god and attempt to destroy them whenever they are discovered.   The Tortle typically follow the ways of the Meini Hiron.
