Serpent Lord

In the early years of the age of dreams an Old One who had remained hidden during the Chaos War arose. He called many of those scattered in the wake of that war and the loss of their "gods" and forged them into a dark cult. For centuries thereafter they hunted any who would enter or get close to the Briarwood, sending out raiding parties to bring slaves and sacrifices back to their lands and their dark temples flowed with the blood of their victims sacrifices. Nearly seven centuries after he first arose a party of heroes sought out the Serpent Lord and managed to mortally wound him before being forced to flee from his fanatical followers. Within a few years his entire cult turned to infighting or fled abandoning the cult and its ways, it eventually collapsed leaving only the ruins of their temples and city as evidence of their existence.
