Xothan

Xothan is an icy world orbiting the pulsar Urdryn. It was the original world settled by the Dursosi and remains their capital. It was once a rogue planet but was captured by Urdryn's gravity some time after it went supernova. Xothan has a retrograde, elliptical orbit.   Archaeology shows Xothan to have once been a temperate world inhabited by an advanced civilization. When it was thrown from its star, its bodies of water froze solid, leaving the world covered in ice and snow. Beneath the ice, the ruins of its original civilization remain, and Dursosi archeologists have made extensive digs to learn about the ancient people who lived there hundreds of millions of years ago.   The inhabitants of Xothan live in domed cities on the surface. The primary industries are archeology, the study of the Dark Ones, education, exploration (the Dursosi have been launching expeditions to the rogue planet Kabazvos, a brown dwarf orbited by several moons 3.1 light years from Urdryn-Krovys), and service providers. Shipping and logistics is also a major industry as Xothan is the central hub for all Dursosi trade.   Halos is the principle city, and most of the government workers live there. It is situated thirteen kilometers north of the Necropolis—the center of Dursosi government, is a compound constructed on a high bluff. It is the location of the Conclave: the hall where the Bone Mages and the Necromancer assemble to discuss policy. Surrounding the Conclave are various administrative buildings involved in running the nation. The whole complex is connected to Halos by a maglev line.   Gravity: Standard
