Second Space

Second Space, also known as the Secondary (Realm), the Sidereal Plane, Kin Kas (the Stage), Kir Herak (the Dream), the Dark, and Normal Space, comprises two regions: Haven and Void. The Void is the vast region between astrospheres. A Haven is defined as the area within a star’s astrosphere. Anything beyond the astropause, even objects orbiting the star, are classified as part of the Void. The Void is a terrifying place for most beings. Dark entities animated by Ur dwell beyond the astrosphere. These beings are both drawn to and repulsed by An. They seem to hunger for it and reportedly devour any An based life that they encounter, draining the An and leaving a lifeless husk behind. Havens are called such because An, in large doses, seems to hurt or at least repel the Dark Ones. Dark Ones have never been observed passing through the termination shock, although they can sometimes be found loitering a short way beyond it in the astrosheath. As such, it seems that the An pouring forth from stars forms a shield against Ur based lifeforms.
