The Crescent Order

The Crescent Order, known for its idealistic views and practical, effective methods, is an ancient sect that has existed since before the fall of Aslynthar. Headquartered in Vasril, Lacryn, the Order is lead by a virtuous Commander and currently seeks to gather adventurers and soldiers into its noble cause. Open to anyone who isn't an outright criminal, the Order has become something of an adventurer's guild in the lower part of the organization as a part of its mission against chaos and evil, retaining its more lofty, exclusive, regal atmosphere only in the higher echelons of the Order's ranks. Alevia Thildranoth, current Commander of the Order, is particularly famous for her expansion of the Order's mission and function in the hiring of adventurers who are separate from the Order and in creating a system not dissimilar to an adventurer's guild to further the Order's interests. Her efforts, while having had a significant and noticeable effect on the general organizing and managing of Lacryn's adventurers, have also led more conservative members of the Order to question her ability to retain the Order's rich history and its lofty calling. In a decision determined by the Commander themself, the most notable and noble Crescent Knights are selected for the highest honor in the entire Order. Only ever awarded posthumously, the name of the Knight in question is magically inscribed upon the blade of Norial's Lance, a holy weapon of sorts bearing the symbol of Norial, god of the moon. The lance is kept in the pinnacle of the Crescent Palace in Vasril, and only the Commander has the authority and ability to access the chamber in which it is kept.

Culture

Members of the Crescent Order trust in order and good triumphing against chaos and evil, but only if everyone remains vigilant and actively works to secure a brighter future. The Crescent Order's ideology revolving around idealistic views rooted in a realistic groundwork, Crescents also pay a special homage to deities of the moon and of peace, in particular, the god Norial and the goddess Juleth, respectively. Geric, god of strategy and honor, and Telos, god of protection, also receive attention and devotion from those who follow the Crescent philosophy.

Public Agenda

The Crescent Order has a clear mission, made known to all through example; to serve the common people and what the Order perceives as the greater good. As of relatively recently, common adventurers have joined the official Crescent Knights in their efforts, spurred on by similar aspirations and goals or simply by the financial benefits offered by the Order's advertisements and notices.

Assets

The Order, while largely lacking in monetary wealth, has a close relationship with the Prime Senate and Hathian Guard, often partnering in particularly sensitive issues.
