Adulion, God-Queen of Loslirian

Lirian Adulion Tilathion (a.k.a. God-Queen of Loslirian)

Once an intelligent, confident, ambitious noble lady of Loslirian, the fall of Adulion Tilathion began when she set out on her quest to reunite the elves. During this holy campaign of hers, she faced Lolth and confronted the Seldarine, but it was her fateful encounter with the Raven Queen that ultimately tipped her slowly towards insanity. The Raven Queen's influence and words had slipped into Adulion's mind, and Adulion eventually became the Queen of Loslirian and used her newfound influence to further her mission, though it had begun to lose its initial purpose and become one of power, even if Adulion herself was unaware of her personal changes. She became more and more unstable, yet maintained a calm exterior, so it was a shock to all of Loslirian when, during the Great Incursion, Adulion massacred an entire human city and absorbed their life forces. They banished her with the aid of the Seldarine themselves, and Corellon destroyed her physical form. Now, she wishes for nothing less than a return to the Material Plane and taking revenge on the gods, Aslyntharan humans, and Loslirian's elves, reuniting those elves who remained or pledged loyalty and worship. She sees godhood and immortality as a means to that end.

Holy Books & Codes

The Almanacs of Adulion: Anguish, Annihilation, and Atrophy.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

A sharp, three-pointed crown hovering over a nine-sided star.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Adulion wants, more than anything else, to reunite the elves through the overpowering of the Seldarine and Dark Seldarine. Other than that, her motivations are either absent or entirely unknown.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Slim and tall, Adulion retains her elven grace and beauty.

Body Features

Her long fingers and general height not getting in the way of any elegance or grace, Adulion's body proportions are that of an elf, only slightly taller.

Facial Features

A thin, sharp jaw and high cheekbones accentuate Adulion's slim facial structure, with eyes that turn slightly upwards (even if hidden by her blindfold). Her ears, distinctly elven, are more akin to the length of an eladrin than an ordinary elf.

Identifying Characteristics

Deathly pale white skin, eladrin-like ears, and a sharp facial structure make Adulion instantly recognizable, as she was even before her downfall.

Apparel & Accessories

Adulion bears a crown, a remnant from her time as Adulion Lirian, but she has sharpened its edges and turned it into something more reflective of her own personality. It appears fragile, but is clearly terribly sharp and can withstand the highest temperatures and the strongest blows. Draping down from the center of her crown are two cloths that taper upwards, acting as blindfolds, that connect near the nape of her neck.

Specialized Equipment

Another relic from times past, Adulion still bears the Lance of Tilathion featured in the Tilathion Dynasty's crest. It has somehow transcended space, joining Adulion in her exile instead of being obliterated in the blast, and has been infused with a part of Adulion's burgeoning divine power.

Personal history

As a potential heir to the throne of fading Loslirian, Adulion Tilathion's birth was highly anticipated and seen as a sign of hope for Loslirian's future, especially seeing as hers was the only monarchical birth in nearly 50 years. When there were no other higher-ranking births by the time she came of age, and still no heir to the current monarch, Adulion was immediately entered into training and preparation to lead Loslirian.    Since the beginning of her "human" adult age, she had displayed incredible prowess with the lance, developing new ways to use it outside of cavalry and jousting, and as such she incorporated her lance into the royal crest of the new (yet short-lived) Tilathion dynasty. She soon proved to be an ideal leader and ruler, displaying wisdom and intelligence and exhibiting strong decision-making skills, and several hundred years after her birth, she inherited the throne from Delthys Holimion Lirian, who stepped down when he experienced the first visions of the Starlight. Adulion's leadership led to an agreeable treaty with the humans of Aslynthar and, for a time, the elves and humans in Northwestern Syrel coexisted in relative peace.    Once she had stabilized Loslirian and its human relationship, Adulion convinced her people to try to reunite the broken elvish people with her. Thus, she began her infamous mission to reunite the elves and their gods, going to such lengths as meeting the Seldarine, facing Lolth, and converting a swath of a drow city away from Lolth's treachery. She even journeyed into the Shadowfell, but the incredible power of the Raven Queen shattered Adulion's mind. She was barely able thrust herself out of the Shadowfell, and after a brief recovery, she returned to Loslirian.    What happened after Adulion's return from the Raven Queen is less known; some believe she simply abandoned her quest, others say she continued but failed to gain any further progress. Unknown to anyone, the experience had begun a deterioration of her mind to the point of complete insanity, and itt directly resulted in her loss of sanity nearly 50 years after the encounter when she massacred the royal court of Loslirian and much of its nobility in a sacrifice of their souls to herself, engaging in twisted rites gleaned from her research in an effort to achieve divinity. After only a month, Loslirian's high elven mages and Aslynthar's high priests met and decided to end her rule through any means possible, and with the blessing of their respective pantheons, they developed a ritual that would rip Adulion's soul from her body, at the cost of Loslirian's palace. Despite Adulion's paranoia, they were successful, and the story of Adulion came to a cataclysmic end. The core of Loslirian's capital was ripped out of the Prime Material Plane, and Adulion's body was sealed away in a tomb underneath its former location.    Coalescing as a shadow of her former power, Adulion was able to return a hundred years later, gathering human children from Aslynthar with magical potential to be brainwashed and made her servants as liches. During her long exile, she had gathered arcana and lost fragments of lore, creating the drafts of the cryptic Almanacs of Adulion and gaining minute amounts of divine power. Her current whereabouts and motives are, however, completely unknown.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Adulion managed to salvage the elven-human relationship in Northwestern Syrel and staved off Loslirian's then-apparent decline, Shortly thereafter, she turned her eyes upon the fractured, damaged elven people as a whole, longing for the drow to be turned back to Corellon and for the Raven Queen to find peace. For a time, she studied the Starfall Sundering and the subsequent conflicts between elves and drow and the Seldarine and Dark Seldarine, factoring in the effects of the shadar-kai under the Raven Queen and the efforts of Eilistraee. Finally, after years of honing her martial and magical skills and extensive research, she began her mission. Her first journey was to the Seldarine to implore their assistance, which she barely acquired despite Corellon's behavior towards Lolth, the drow, and the Raven Queen and her followers. She then began a painstaking, patient, and unheard-of effort, channeling a portion of Loslirian's resources towards the effort. She was able to convince her subjects to help her. The stage was set for her efforts.   During her crusade, Adulion faced even the likes of Lolth and managed to convert a large portion of a drow city (the one nearest the capital of Loslirian). However, with her successes, her confidence and progress inspired her to make a move towards the shadar-kai and Raven Queen.

Failures & Embarrassments

Following a lengthy campaign in the Underdark and a trip to Lolth's lair in the Abyss, Adulion felt prepared and able to travel into the Shadowfell to face the Raven Queen. After some preparation, she journeyed to the Raven Queen's palace, her built-up mental fortitude shielding her from the sorcery of the palace until she reached the Raven Queen herself. Intending to only briefly enter the inner sanctum to heal the Raven Queen's mind just a small amount, the incredible force of the Queen's power abruptly contorted Adulion's mind and she only just survived the experience, scarcely managing to fling herself out of the Shadowfell and across the planes. She landed miraculously in the city of Sigil, and after spending a short time recovering, she returned to Loslirian, thoroughly changed from the experience. It was the beginning of her fall into insanity.

Mental Trauma

When her mind finally gave in under the pressure of her encounter with the Raven Queen, Adulion became highly paranoid and lost what morals and logic had prevented her from seeking divinity as a means to reunite the elves. This came hand-in-hand with more selfish motives, and as such her entire personality and moral compass was turned on its head. Initially, she was extraordinarily volatile, but after her "death" and subsequent traversing the multiverse in an incorporeal form, Adulion stabilized to an extent and became suddenly apathetic and calm, a stark contrast to both of her previous selves.

Morality & Philosophy

During her reign as Adulion Lirian, she served as a beacon of morality, displaying incredible self-control and wisdom in all-things ethical and moral. She was particularly averse to lying and deception; her short-lived dynasty was, in fact, one of the most transparent in all of Loslirian's millennia-long history. After her fall (or rise, depending on how you look at it), her philosophy became extremely focused around "the ends justifies the means," and it quickly became tainted by her insanity and twisted into evil. Since her destruction, she has been extremely patient and methodical, as seen by her apparent lack of influence on the Material Plane since the shaping and training of Lord Arkan and other such individuals.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Adulion, in demigod-hood as in mortal life, still retains her goal to reunite the elven people and repair the damage of the Starfall, though it has become much more of a single-minded focus since her insanity. However, at it's core, what Adulion wants has remained the same throughout the entirety of her life; the means to get there have merely changed.

Social

Social Aptitude

Incredibly charismatic and intelligent, Adulion in post-death as in life has been able to sway even the most firmly set ideas and articulate her beliefs clearly and coherently. Having been defeated twice already, she believes she knows the bounds of her abilities, though her self-opinion is likely still overinflated. Also, despite her insanity, Adulion has retained her politeness and tact (unless she wishes to wage a sort of psychological warfare).

Speech

Clear, yet almost breathy, resonant, yet soft, the clarity of the speech of Adulion has been enhanced by her semi-divinity, but has taken on a stark, cold feeling that makes even the most relaxed uncomfortable. She often greets people as though they were entering the space of royalty, which could be considered correct, given her past life.
