Historically, a place of dedicated worship in isolation, that friars and nuns call home, and where travelers can find shelter and restoration given they observe the rules in respect of local customs.
The main concept remains, but it can elastically be applied to any state-owned, cleric-operated hospitality structure that is isolated enough from urbanization to require organized errands in order to maintain it.
