Runor

Year 568, era of the Movement

Deep stares and dread

He who stares through you and sees it all, the good and the bad. Don't let him, keep your soul, avoid his gaze and he'll go back to his cursed home.

He is a known legend of Erak and its surrounding islands. A tale old as the age of darkness. He is believed to be sent by a corpse, sometimes its believed that he is a corpse. A sight to fear and to avoid, one never bringing good news but always more problems.

Runor

A legend of old, rumoured to be a curse cast by a corpse after Nera was struck down. He is considered an agent of death and despair, as most sightings of him end up in death.

Little is known of him in truth. A bipedal body, mostly covered in grey feathers, with his legs and face featherless, showing a rough skin. His face has a beak and a pair of giant eyes —filled with a void of stars— that are surrounded by small grey feathers. He has short black hair, decorated with small colourful feathers, similar to the few colourful odd feathers that grow on his face.

A blue side headshot of a owl-like person, with a big black eye surrounded by white feathers. It has black messy hair, and more white feathers covering the back of his neck. Colourful feathers decorate his hair and around his eye.

Sights beyond comprehension

Little is known of him, most stories involving him have been distorted in nightmare tales to scare bad children into behaving. Most of the stories tell of meetings with Runor when the children are misbehaving and them getting punished with some inconvenience once he saw them.

The worse stories are the ones not told to the children. They say staring at his big eyes make you understand things you wished to never understand, it makes you learn things that aren't supposed to be learn; whoever looks at his eyes shall not be the same. Whoever tries to scare him off will be instead pursued by their own deepest fears until their legs stop working. To try to hurt him is to ask for the worse of tortures.

But, if you were to encounter him, your best best is to avoid his stare, go on as if nothing was happening, and leave the area as soon as possible without letting him know you have realised of his presence. With time, he will leave back to his home, towards the owl corpse who might or not be his true form.

An owl-shaped creature with half its body being plain blue and parts of it being dark with soft blue speckles. It is missing one eye and one of its wings isn't shown.

Gifts

The first sight of Runor happened during the start of the age of darkness in Erak and brought "gifts": a bunch of black stones with sparkles of light, similar to the ones the people in Erak gathered in their coming out of age ritual. This offended them and asked him to take his false gift and leave.

That was the first time meeting him and the first round of death. The more aggressive people end up dying painfully, the people staring in shock ended up going insane, only the people not having seen him survived. And thru windows, it was then the first time that people saw him leave towards the corpse and cursed his name for daring to corrupt the land they so much love.

What sad creature, without explanation, without hope. A nice stand in for Death, and it's concept. Well done, Friend. But, better luck next time! img:7077027
