Jaded Whip Inn
The Jaded Whip Inn is a small tavern where adventurers can shack up for the night after being on the road for so long. The price is always good, and even more-so if an adventurer just came into a lot of gold!
"Welcome to the Jaded Whip Inn! Are you looking for a place to rest your head? Or perhaps a hot meal? We even have Astar's famous Pixie Cider!"
Design
The inn is a two-story, half-timbered building. Accommodations consists of three rooms with two wooden beds, and large room with four beds. A small private room for one person is available for cheap coin, but a large private room is the most expensive thing at the inn. There is a private bathroom available to guests.
Entries
The main entrance is a set of double doors that leads into the tavern's main room. There is a single back entrance into the kitchen. Another double door entrance leads into the storage room, where deliveries are made.
The stables in the back have a double door entrance for horses, oxen, and other mounts, and there are two other side entrances in the stables for customers and workers to come and go.
Sensory & Appearance
The smell of alcohol and hot food is the first thing anyone senses upon entering the inn. The tavern has good light with candles on every table and wall lanterns for extra lighting.
When heading upstairs, the lighting in the hallway remains good, but the rooms carry a dimmer light as each room has a single candle.
The stables have wall lanterns that illuminate the place fairly good, and some of the lighting even makes it up to the avian rafters for letter carriers.
Denizens
Xion is the easiest person to find at the tavern, as he runs the place. Aazzan Scourgecast is the known cook and he's very sensitive about his cooking. Merlara M'Haaren and Cline Turco are two servers who love to bring entertainment to the tavern whenever possible. Mangler is a silver kenku with red eyes that overlooks the stables.
Alterations
The main floor of the inn was redesigned after a fight broke out and a bar brawl happened. There are remnants of the battle left over by faint scorch marks on the walls and with a DC 13 Perception check, one can see the windows are reinforced with magick.
In the stables, there is new flooring after a nasty termite infection nearly ate everything. For fear of having to deal with another infestation of insectoids, Xion has requested all entomancers and insect swarmkeepers keep their insectoids out of the stables and inn until they leave.
Tourism
The tavern is often busy with locales from the recently built Avalon Logging coming to drink every day. Adventurers can also be found visiting the local tavern and even requesting a room or two for the night.

One of my favorite parts of reading other people's worlds is the small locations like homes, inns, or shops that exist within the world. I know I need to do more of this in my own worldbuilding but I tend to get wrapped up in either the very large things (a whole territory) or a single character or event. Fun pages like this remind me what I should be doing more of. The details are nice and I love the way you give the whole sensory experience to your readers. Very lovely and a nice read!
