Lufian's Love

In the Mancosian Calendar Lufian's Love is a week long holiday celebrating the story of the love between Lufian and the earth god Hulgrend. It is also the holiday that remembers the destruction that that very love brought about in the form of The Great Upheaval. It's a week long holiday, celebrated in the first week of the ninth month, which is the month named after Lufian.

It's a holiday celebrating love that endis in a somber tale about destruction and mourning. The tale of the love between Lufian and Hulgrend is seen as the ultimate love story and as a cautionary tale about getting involved in the lives of the gods.

It is customary to give a heart stone to your love at the start of the holiday. The love stone is a semi-precious stone. Each heart stone is said to be a piece of the heart of Hulgrend. It is said that Hulgrend gave the first heart stone to Lufian as a pledge of his love. There is no record of this stone before before The Great Upheaval, lending credit to the legend that each heart stone is a piece of Hulgrend's heart that broke the day that Lufian died.
