World Affinity

Each of the worlds, nestled in their protective bubbles of crystalline space and fractured time, has become cut off from each other. The Gods have their The Council but so far the universe has stagnated as they live in fear of what lies outside the bubbles.   One side effect noted by the Pantheons as they prepared their worlds for human habitation was that the magic system began to leak into all elements of the world. It's important to remember that Magic causes a world's affinity, not the other way around. many of humanity's scholars have falsely spread the idea that society and ecology cause a world's affinity.   One way to think of magic as a fundamental particle, then the affinity can be thought as of the "charge" it acquires as it circulates through a world. When magic is used, it gains the property the spell or ritual in use needs. If a spell needs conjure a lightning bolt, it first must spend energy to becomes aligned with the Plasma  domain and then mimics the effects of a normal lightning bolt. In a world aligned to Plasma, no extra energy would need to be spent to align the magic with the example effect. , but because of that Affinity, it also means that many natural forces of the world become unbalanced. Liquid-aligned worlds often massive oceans that drown out most of the land, where Gas-aligned often support floating islands. This contributes to the wide variety of ecosystems and geologies present across the multiverse.
