The Gilded Lillies

The Gilded Lillies are a group of professional mercenaries. The Gilded Lillies serve as the standing army of Beaussaint but they are technically employed as the private forces of the Lord Baron. They are meant to serve as a counter to the other nobles of Beaussaint and their forces, in case of a rebellion. Since most nobles and their households serve as heavy cavalry, the Gilded Lillies are trained and equipped to combat them. This makes the Gilded Lillies into a peacekeeping force, meant to serve as both a deterrent to rebellion and serving as the Lord Baron's personal guard. These well-payed forces are instantly recognised by their gilded armour and their crest that shows 5 golden lillies.

The Gilded Lillies Company is 1300 strong, with 400 serving as heavy arbalasts, 400 serving as pikemen and 400 serving as halberdiers. A support staff of 100 men serves as officers, medical staff and logistical forces.

Equipment

The pikemen and halberdiers are equipped with plate armor and the arbalasts are outfitted with scale mail. All of the armor is gilled to make them instantly recognisable. The arbalasts are also supplied with several pavises to be used during sieges or when facing an enemy on an open battlefield.

Weaponry

The arbalasts are armed with heavy, armor-piercing crossbows, the pikemen are armed with pikes and the halberdiers are armed with halberds. All forces are also supplied with a longsword.
