Veil Stalker

Given its quadrupedal form and predatory nature, it is broadly classified by O'che scholars as a corrupted "Apex Void Predator," though its original species is unidentifiable.   It exhibits a distorted bilateral symmetry, meaning its left and right sides are generally mirrored, but with subtle, unsettling asymmetries in the flow of its shimmering skin or the placement of the Echo Lure tendrils, hinting at its corrupted nature. A mature Veil Stalker typically stands about 1.5 to 2 meters tall at the shoulder and can measure 3 to 4 meters from its featureless head to the tip of its tail like appendage (if it possesses one, which often varies due to corruption). Its mass is surprisingly light for its size, given its semi ethereal composition, estimated around 200 to 300 kilograms.  It typically maintains a low, predatory crouch, with its powerful limbs coiled, ready to spring. When moving, its posture is fluid and unnervingly silent, almost gliding across the ground.   No discernible internal skeletal structure has ever been observed. The Veil Stalker appears to maintain its form through the inherent magical rigidity of its corrupted semi translucent tissue, which acts as both muscle and bone. This allows for its unnatural flexibility and silent movement. Its "skin" is not true skin but a constantly shifting, semi solid membrane. It feels cool and slick to the touch, like polished glass, but with a subtle, unsettling vibration. It often appears wet or oily, though it leaves no residue.   As noted, it lacks traditional sensory organs (eyes, ears, nose). Its perception is entirely channeled through the Echo Lure. The Veil Stalker itself is a vessel for the Echo Lure's senses. The internal systems of a Veil Stalker are largely unknown. When a Veil Stalker is "killed" or sufficiently damaged, its form rapidly destabilizes and dissolves into shimmering motes of Void energy, leaving no physical remains or internal organs to study. This rapid dissolution prevents any detailed examination of its corrupted physiology.

The Veil Stalker reproduces asexually. When conditions are right, a smaller, dormant version of itself will bud off its body, detaching and lying inert within the Void. These dormant forms are featureless and lack any sensory capabilities, awaiting activation. This dormant form will remain in a state of suspended animation until it is discovered and "awakened" by the spores of an Echo Lure, at which point the symbiotic relationship begins anew.

The Veil Stalker's behavior is entirely subservient to the Echo Lure. It acts as a silent, relentless, and emotionless hunter, moving with a terrifying grace and precision. Its sole purpose is to close the distance between itself and the prey that the Echo Lure has lured. It exhibits no independent thought or will, functioning purely as a biological weapon directed by its parasitic partner. Its movements are often slow and deliberate until it is ready to strike, at which point it can accelerate with shocking speed.

The Veil Stalker is entirely blind and deaf in the conventional sense. Its perception of the world is entirely mediated by the Echo Lure. It receives direct neural commands and sensory data from its symbiotic partner, allowing it to navigate the Void and precisely track prey. It can sense the "purity" or "life force" signature of its prey as a distinct psychic resonance, which stands out against the corrupted background of the Void. This allows it to hone in on targets once the Echo Lure has them ensnared.
