Worshipful Company of Fishmongers
The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers (or just Fishmongers for short) started out as a true guild of fishmongers handling the pricing, selling, quotas, etc of fish and other marine life for a small kingdom.
That was until the Shattering and this long lost kingdom's rivers and seas slowly but inevitably dried up. With this loss of their primary trade, the fishmongers had to look for new sources of income and they found it. Murder.
As a well run guild, they already had the infrastructure to recruit, train, and manage their members. In addition, they had many who were skilled in the use of blades and how to accurately price a pound of flesh.
In this modern Yuna, the Fishmongers serve as a somewhat open secret order of assassins and murderers. While still operating nominally as fishmongers on various shards, their main trade is hidden behind a black door. Every Company House has one and if someone needs someone disposed of and they can afford it, they just need to pass through that door and place an order.
The Company does have a few rules:
1. Never take out a contract on a Company member in good standing. They don't fish their own.
2. Certain political leaders are off limits. While conflict is good for business, war is not.
3. Once a contract is made, only the Head of the Company or the original purchaser may cancel it.
Traditions of the Company:
- All Fishmongers carry a filet knife. This knife has a bone hilt carved from the forearm of the fishmonger after their first kill and it is sheathed in a leather sheath made from the skin of their first "Fish"
