Prep: World Ember 2025

Introduction

This is my first attempt at Worldember and I'm excited to see how it goes. I have a goal of 10,000 words and we will be focusing on the city of Moonstone Bay. The primary setting of my Daggerheart campaign world. Can't wait to see what this challenge inspires. I am going to lay out the different districts, major points of interests in each district, Major and minor NPCs and the hooks for each of the 3 Westmarch Style Adventure Modules I will be adding to the world at some point. I think this is the way we will go! My stretch goal will to decide how each Daggerheart Ancestry fits into my world.

Assignment #1 Review or Set Up Your World Page:11/3/25

Answer: This is something I'm struggling with. I am TOTALLY overthinking the layout and what makes a good page rather than just taking inspiration from others and going for it. Which I will be. Starting now. So lets get it! To the world page we GO! EDIT: Thanks to some inspiration from other pages and creators I feel like I have a decent landing page for my world. More to come later in the day!

Assignment # 2 Find an Accountability Buddy! 11/5/25

Answer: I have spoken to a couple friends AND my wife about my plan. They know my goals and my time and are set to help me stay on target. My job as a coach and a personal trainer had made me very aware of just how important an accountability partner is. That is the biggest part of what I do as a trainer! So it wasn't hard to get this.

Assignment #3 Read a Book! 11/6/25

Answer: E- Z - P - Z I have been working my way through Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive Series. Last month I listend AND read Way of Kings and I am doing the same this month with Words of Radiance. Last month I also listened to the current entirety of the Empyrean Sage by Rebecca Yarros. So I am feeling inspired to create something intriguing and awesome.

Assignments #4 & 5: Tidying Up My Space and Refreshing Author Page 11/7/25

Answer: 4) It has been nice just cleaning up the area I write in. Because sometimes its at work. Which, as cool as my job can be, can get really messy. Building and disassembling lightsabers and teaching people how to use them can leave my space feeling cluttered! So this is a daily task as I sit to write!

5) My author profile wasn't really anything so it has stuff on it now! As I figure out who I am as an author I will update it more and more. I struggle quite a bit when trying to write a bio about myself without feeling like I'm boasting. I think the life I've led has been really cool despite my hardship and I think that can come off as boastful and arrogant. I want to make a mark on the communities I'm involved in as a beacon of kindness and humility. Not propped up by a sense of accomplisment and undue pride.

Assignment #6 & 7: Review World Primer Article & Define my Scope for WorldEmber 11/8/25

Answer: 6) Turns out, I never started a WorldPrimer outside of my WorldMeta. So I guess it's time to start one!

7) This has been on my mind since I saw the challenge. How do I write all that's in my head, how do i break it all down and then make it all connect?! This list is going to be the start of that!

I think this is enoough. If not, I'm sure I can find so much more.

Assignment # 8 & 9 & 10 Get Some Feedback & Make a List of Articles to Write, Join the Community 11/11/25

Answer: 8) So far I've gotten feedbacl from a few people in my DM/GM circle about articles I've written so far, layout and concepts. They are in various states of replying but we have completed our first TWO rows of our homework bingo. We will continue more as we got through the month.

9) I have been building catagories and this has given me a lot to work with from our first set of articles in Worldember. I will add to this as we go!
