Shards of the gods

Sentence: someone wants something by a specific time and is having difficulty getting it using certain things because of certain other things.   Zales wants the Shards of the gods before the next planetary alignment and is having difficulty getting them by utilizing the thirteen aasimar because the defenders of the shards are too powerful.   Theme: Good triumphs evil, being virtuous leads to victory, selfishness leads to destruction.   The western kingdoms posses the shards of the gods which Zales wants but the gods are able to actively intervene during the next planetary alignment   Zales is selfish he wants the world to exist as he as foreseen it too
