Shard: A Sweet Oblivion
X
Stephen Herald remembers a time when he was sworn to protect humanity. He remembers when he escaped a dying world and was adopted by the Company to help
He remembers his friends, his magic, and most of all the woman he loved.
So why is he currently on the run from them with only a girl who is definitely not human for company?
Krystal vaguely remembers a time where she was something beyond this mortal realm. She remembers a violent night, one that left her almost dead and trapped in the body of a young girl. Over the years she has slowly managed to regain her power, and now she may finally have the chance to reclaim her place in the stars.
So why is she currently helping a human accountant turned hybrid disaster take on his evil employer instead of doing that?
Shard recounts the stories of a world beyond worlds, a junkyard of the universe where reality and unreality clash, where things like mages and demons collide with computers and modern life and people who should have really stopped dabbling into that strange portal twenty minutes ago. Most of all it is the story of two cowards who should definitely not be the ones saving the world, but, you know, I suppose you can't really complain.
Sure hope nothing bad happens.
