The Windwardens
Whenever a storm grew on the horizon or an aerial threat loomed over Shal’Azura, the Windwardens were the first to respond and the last to retreat.
On stormy nights, the Amana District would be filled with wide-eyed groupies and fans, eager to catch a glimpse of the legendary defenders of Shal’Azura during their Tempest Parade. This event celebrated the approaching storm, as they rode their enormous dragonflies high above the tallest towers in a daring aerial spectacle. The parade was a tribute to their Tempestuous Founder, Salome Boethos, who had established their revered order centuries before, and it was a demonstration of their dedication to the Storm Lord. Their armors gleamed until the last rays of the setting sun were obscured by the churning cumulus clouds, which were illuminated from within by crackling lightning and the blue flicker of ball lightning above.
