Festival of Clouds
The Festival of Clouds, observed annually during the seventh lunar cycle, represents one of Shal'Azura's most loved cultural traditions. Citizens adorn their homes with silver-blue banners and wear flowing garments that mimic the movement of clouds.
Elders prepare the ceremonial sky-wine, fermented from white berries that only grow at the kingdom's highest elevations, while children craft intricate paper lanterns designed to carry wishes to the Cloud Deities. Merchants suspend commerce for three days, as tradition holds that transactions during this period bring ill fortune to both buyer and seller.
At dusk, thousands gather in Triad Plaza, the central plaza of Warda and in other grand plazas across the city, where elders burn sacred resins that rise to mingle with the clouds above. Children craft miniature sky-boats from parchment, believing their wishes will ascend when released.
