After a four-week stand-off and several failed assaults, the Canadian military wiped out the Sovereign Mohawk Nation. In an unprecedented and unexpected move, the US Government relocated American Mohawks to the Canadian internment camp as well.

PANAMA: The ORO Corporation announces the discovery of molybdenum deposits off the coast of Panama. The corporation had acquired a monopoly on molybdenum exploitation, extraction, and processing prior to the announcement.

After a ten-day standoff, US Armed Forces retake the Shiloh Launch Facility, but not before SAIM launches a Lone Eagle toward Russia. Although the US President warns his Russian counterpart, the missile disappears over the Arctic Circle.

The French economy finally breaks under the strain of VITAS, ending the country's resistance to the new corporate culture.

India launches a tactical nuclear weapon against Kashmir, because of Pakistani support of insurgents. Pakistan responds with four of its own tactical nuclear weapons.Two explode on the launchpad.The other two successfully detonate in Kashmir. The UN and Corporate Court prevent the situation from escalating. A Corporate Court covert op task force removes the rest of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal

A new constitution is submitted to the Provisional Congress for approval. Two thirds of the US and Canadian states ratify it over the next six months. US President Andrew McAlister becomes provisional President of the UCAS, Canadian Prime Minister Harold Frazier becomes provisional Vice President of the UCAS.

Ken Roper and Michael Eld, former members of Echo Mirage and founders of Matrix Systems, demonstrate their prototype cyberdeck in Boston, UCAS. A power outage ends the demonstration.

The Confederation of American States secedes from the UCAS.

California secedes from the UCAS. Aztlan invades southern California, taking the city of San Diego after UCAS President Andrew McAlister orders the Pacific Fleet to abandon the harbor. Tír Tairngire invades northern California, going as far as Redding.[2] Governor Treacle appeals to Japan for aid. Japan recognizes California's sovereignty and promises economic and military aid

A modification to the 14th Amendment of the UCAS Constitution is ratified, establishing the System Identification Number system and requiring all citizens to register for a SIN.

The events in Seattle spark racial violence worldwide. In New York, 836 die. In Australia, initial racial violence by people of Asian origin prompts wider violence against people of Asian origin. In Berlin, anarchists attack authorities. In Czechia, Muslims are targeted. In Poland, the National Republic of Poland is established under martial law with Russian support to quell the troubles.
