Important Corps

Forget the big ten. Bar one, they care little about this little country. No, there are other corps that matter here. Worry your head about the ones we have, not the ones that see us as just one of their many markets. Best you know who to worry about before you dive headfirst into trouble. And as you may expect, I am always in the business for a paydata exchange. Hit me up if you need more, or have anything of value for me.

Regulus JI

Born from the merger of British Industrial and Royal Dutch Joint Enterprises, this Megacorp is the closest thing we have to a true Dutch Megacorp. Its focus areas are industrial manufacturing, transportation, and distribution. It also has a few subsidiaries, such as Maas-Waker.   Royal Dutch used to be involved in land reclamation projects, but corruption and sabotage brought it to its knees. Just as Saeder-Krupp thought it won, Royal Dutch merged and Regulus Joint Industries prepared its return. The corp appointed princess Juliana-Marie as its chairwoman, making use of the monarchy's dislike of Saeder-Krupp while spearheading the resistance of Eurocorps against the wyrm.   In recent years, Regulus renamed to Regulus JI. They also moved headquarters from London to Europort, showing exactly how important they find their role in the Europort Administrative Ruling Council.

Proteus

They may be a German company, but Proteus still plays a role in the UNL. Asides from their presence in Europort, they also have an Arkoblock in the drowned city of Groningen. There they produce ground-effect vehicles, or flightships for short. In other words, seaplanes that only really function a mere few meters above sea level.   Oh, and they secretly experiment on maritime critters. We should not forget that part. All classified, but we know the truth.   Proteus is important to the UNL due to their research into hazardous environments. This research may play a large role in reclaiming the Toxic Wastelands. Its work with transhumanism might also help with improved survival there. And of course, it hardly is a surprise that the royal family has interest in their genetech research. After all, every ruler wants to live forever.

Saeder-Krupp

Everyone knows the UNL government is mainly owned by the corps, or rather their bribes. And SK made good use of that in the 50s, turning the government against Royal Dutch. They succeeded in getting all contracts canceled, almost costing Royal Dutch its AA-status. Needless to say, not many have ever forgiven them for that.   The wyrm and his corp still want to get their claws in our country, which is resisted by Regulus all across the board. With both river and road connecting Rhein-Ruhr to Europort, it is an important place for SK business. If they could, they would run the show. But Regulus and the royal family stand in their way. Nowadays, Regulus is even trying to influence Proteus, to prevent Lofwyr from getting it back in his control.

Knight Errant

Knight Errant always had quite a few security contracts in the UNL, thanks to De Maas-Waker Politie and Sinjoor Inc. prioritising their own main bases. While the three corps didn't use to clash, this started to change when Amsterdam decided to tender its security contract per district. Each corp got some part of the pie and their rivalry grew.   And then Detroit happened. When Knight Errant pulled the kill-clauses in their UCAS and CAS security contracts, this really pissed off a lot of folks. In the UNL, public-image kill-clauses were pulled in return, and its rivals jumped on the opportunity. Now on the backfoot, Knight Errant is engaging in a PR war with a lot of covert sabotage, in an attempt to convince former customers to come back to them.

Maas-Waker

A subsidiary of Regulus JI, consisting of both a police and a medical department. In Europort, they are the only ones allowed to wield guns outside extraterritorial areas. They also guard the highways and the Euroroutes, as well as several cities and whatnot. Maas-Waker runs at a loss on many contracts as part of their PR for their golden gooses.   It will come to no surprise that their members love bullying Saeder-Krupp. Any convoy that cannot claim extraterritoriality or diplomatic immunity, will have to deal with increased security checks. Subtle but clear abuse of power, but most of us love it. I know I do.

Sinjoor Inc.

It used to be that this company was solely active in Antwerp, securing the city center while letting the suburbs go to hell. This changed when in the 60s the Amsterdam contract was being tendered. Since then, Sinjoor Inc. has gone for a few more contracts, mostly richer districts. Their clientele likes being the main priority. This way a random bank robbery or murder will not draw police attention away from cleaners stealing some precious jewelry. Priorities. Eat the rich, folks.   Rumor has it they covertly team up with Maas-Waker, so if you hit a rich area, do not expect a jurisdiction change to delay your pursuers.
