Rook

Non-Canon Character

You see the big lug, you think he'll never be able to sneak in undetected. But he can sneak with the best of 'em. That said, I ain't recommending him for his subtlety. If I'm getting Rook with me on a job, it's because I need him to draw attention and beat the hell out of people. A purpose he fulfills quite marvelously, really.   So yeah, don't make assumptions about his size, he can still infiltrate a corp site or hideout just fine. And if things go south, it's always nice to have a bloody solid rock on your side. Especially when a Vory or Yakuza member throws a slur at him, then gets smacked into a wall in response.

There's street sams out there that are subtle. Even trolls can be subtle from time to time. Not Rook. He's tall for a Dutch troll, which says a lot about his height. And while he can sneak about or dress somewhat inconspicuous, he generally is as easy to notice as a train ramming a truck on a railroad crossing.   So if you have a job that doesn't involve any kind of violence, don't bother hiring him. But if you want someone capable of getting things done when push comes to very forceful shove, this is the troll you want on your team.   The team he usually runs with, is nicely varied. Brute force, magic, matrix support, smooth talking. They often moonlight as a bodyguard team, with Rook the big obvious muscle. He draws attention and throws down, while others move in from behind. Works wonders, so he's definitely worth a call.

Testimonials

I've had to face off against Rook a few times. After the first, I started demanding hazard pay.

I never know whether to cry or to laugh when a call comes in about Rook. The paperwork is a pain, but he does resolve fights real fast.
