Stargazers

Loners by nature, they are the calmest and most introverted of the Garou, as well as the smallest of the remaining tribes. Their shrinking numbers and power, a result of the destruction of their homelands by the Wyrm, caused a number of changes to the tribe, most importantly in their alliances. Always outsiders among the Garou Nation, the Stargazers claim to be descendants of the followers of Klaital Starcatcher, a sage from the East who preached moderation and harmony.

Tribal Trait - Inner Peace

The Stargazers have no inherent Tribal nature that impacts them when their Rage exceeds their Willpower. Instead while their Willpower is higher than their Rage the Garou will only ever gain 1 Rage Point per success when rolling on the Rage table.

Background

All Stargazers follow the rules bellow during character creation:
  • Tribal Totem: Chimera
  • Deserters: When it comes to Renown you always treat all your Categories as being 1 point lower than they actually are for the purposes of Social Bonuses.
  • Centered: Lower all Frenzy difficulties by 1. Additionally always treat your Permanent Rage as being 1 dot lower than it actually is.
  • Member
  • Gifts of Chimera: Chose a single permanent Level 1 Stargazer Tribal Gift for your character to possess.

Camps

A Stargazer may chose to belong to one of the following Camps within her Tribe. This is an optional choice the character can take and should really only be taken by characters of Rank 2 or greater.

The Heavenly Successors Of The Demon-Eater

Heirs to Zhong Kuei, the Heavenly Successors have sworn themselves to the destruction of vampires and other creatures that leech Gaia's soul off.
  • Bonus: Add a 1 Point Bonus for all Brawl related tests when fighting Vampires or the Kuei-jin.
  • Negative: Lose 1 Point of Glory whenever you fail to destroy a Vampire or Kuei-jin you came across in a Scene.

The Inner Path

The Inner Path are a secret society that believe that the Stargazers should become the Alphas of the Garou Nation, since they are most spiritually advanced. Rather than challenging the Silver Fangs openly, the Inner Path works with other malcontents within the Nation to achieve their goal.
  • Bonus: Gain a 1 Point Bonus to all Social Rolls when dealing with members of the Bone Gnawers or Children of Gaia Tribe.
  • Negative: You receive a 1 Point Penalty to all Social Rolls when dealing with members of the Silver Fangs or Shadow Lords Tribe.

The Klaital Puk

The Klaital Puk serve a Garou they see as the reincarnation of Klaital Star-catcher. When the current Klaital dies, they seek omens and portents to learn where his soul has been reborn. Since the last Klaital died during the Week of Nightmares and has not yet resurfaced, the Klaital Puk have lost much of their influence.
  • Bonus: Start the game with an additional dot in Ancestors (Garou Specific Advantages)
  • Negative: You must always pursue hints or clues of the next reincarnation of the Klaital Puk. If a character fails to do so, he will lose 3 point of Honor.

The Sacred Thread

The Sacred Thread seek to spread education and spiritual counsel among humans to combat the tendrils of the Wyrm before they take root in a human mind.
  • Bonus: You start the game with at least 1 dot in Scalable advantages - Followers. This dot can be combined with other dots in the same advantage (provided you meet the requirements).
  • Negative: You gain a 1 dot Flaw - Compromised Identity.

Trance Runners

The Trance Runners have dedicated themselves to a meditative state during physical exercise. Lung-gompa - wind meditation - grants them physical prowess to fulfill their duties: transmitting messages, items, and secrets from caern to caern or court to court.
  • Bonus: Add a 1 Point Bonus to all Gift related rolls during physical exertion (including combat).
  • Negative: The character cannot speak during physical exertion (including combat) as he had effectively entered a meditative state.

The World Tree

Members of the World Tree seek enlightenment not only among their own kind or humanity, but also from the spirits and even other Changing Breeds. They often undertake extended Umbral quest in search of their answers.
  • Bonus: Increase your Primal Urge by 1.
  • Negative: You gain a 1 dot Flaw - Compromised Identity.

The Zephyr

The Zephyr are dedicated to master Kailindo, and, like the wind-spirits that mentor them, are constantly on the road, joining packs as they travel, seeking visions that will grant them enlightenment
  • Bonus: Add the Specialization to Brawl - Kailindo. This Specialization can be used also in Glabro or Crinos forms.
  • Negative: The character cannot rest in the same location more than twice in a row. Doing so will cause the character to not recover any Willpower points.

Ana-gamin

The Ana-gamin are a near mythical group that are rumored to kidnap and indoctrinate promising Stargazers. They are said to roam the Umbra, searching for a way to sever the earthly connections of all Stargazers to allow their Tribe to wander the Umbra in its entirety.
  • Bonus: The character receives a 1 Point Bonus on all rolls when in the Umbra.
  • Negative: The character receives a 1 Point Penalty on all rolls when in the physical world.

The Metastic Birth

The followers of the Metastic Birth believe that the Wyrm is not imprisoned. Rather, it has cocooned itself and awaits its metamorphosis. Followers of the Camp believe that the Garou should prepare to survive the Apocalypse to experience the new world once the Wyrm has finally been transformed, not try to fight the process.
  • Bonus: You do not suffer losses to your Renown for failing to fight the Wyrm unless another Garou or sacred site is in danger.
  • Negative: Your Renown is always considered 0 in all categories for the purposes of Social Bonuses, when dealing with other Garou.

Ouroboroans - The Metastic Rebirth (Corrupted)

The Ouroboroans seek to free the ancient Wyrm of Balance from the Pattern Web. To do this, they strike at concentrations of Weaver power, search out forgotten Wyrm entities and seek ways into Malfeas. Only by following the Wyrm to its cave, rather than fighting its minions, do they feel they may truly influence the outcome of the Final War.
  • Bonus: You may use Level 1 Black Spiral Dancer Tribal Gifts.
  • Negative: You start the game with 1 Point of Corruption and your Renown is always considered 0 in all categories for the purposes of Social Bonuses, when dealing with other Garou.
