The Beifong EyeWare v5.7 is one of the most modern eye implants offered by Beifong Steelworks. In addition to the digital interface, it offers zoom, friend-foe identification and other useful tools for netrunners, mercenaries and soldiers of the corporation.

However, the improvements are comparatively moderate. There is still speculation as to when v6.0 will finally be released with real new features.

The current version of the implant is sold on a large scale. Despite the sales launch of 9980 AG and competition from Future Global Industies, prices are still very high. Second-hand goods are already available, but these are mostly sold by gangs and their reliability is questionable to say the least.
Complexity
The implant requires some practice and experience and is not a product for beginners. It is popular with netrunners, snipers and experienced mercenaries for its setting options. It can be overwhelming and confusing for inexperienced users.
Discovery
The 5.7 version of the implant is a further development of the 5.5 version, which was widely used by the soldiers of the Beifong corporation in the 9960s. The zoom has been further improved and the resolution of the user interface has been enhanced. Minor connection problems with hardware from other corporations have also been fixed.
