Cultural Significance
Example True Name Expressions
When outside the sendojo, a mage might come across someone they might think is a fellow of their sendojo and will initiate a verbal test via the expression unique to their sendojo to determine if this person is their fellow and if they have not forgotten their teachings. Successfully passing an expression from a fellow will make a new friend on an otherwise strange planet or open opportunities that were previously closed. All disciplined and true fellows of a sendojo are encouraged to aid each other if they happen upon each other.- Q: Who do you come to me as on this day?
- A: TRUE NAME
- Q: Ah, I see, and tell me TRUE NAME, who has sent you here on this day?
- A: Master's TRUE NAME
- Q: 1st Verse of Sendojo Prayer (any prayer)
- A: 2nd Verse of the same Prayer
