Noble Governance & Estate Structure

In the socio-familial structures of the Seven Seals Legendarium, the term “Household” refers not only to a noble House in the traditional sense but also extends to include Gens, Stripes, and any closely associated familial or social units. Within these Households, the Household Staff comprises a vital administrative and operational corps responsible for maintaining the estate and supporting its members.

The Master of Household Staff leads this staff—a position typically reserved for a bloodline member of the House itself. This individual appoints, oversees, and dismisses subordinate Masters as needed. These subordinate Masters, who may be drawn from minor nobility or skilled professionals, manage specialized domains within the estate. While each Household may vary in structure, the following roles represent the standard array of Masters commonly found across noble institutions.

• Master of Arms: Responsible for managing the armed Household security force and any other armed or military units or functions of the Household. This ranges from maintaining physical security of the lands to arranging a security detail and performing background checks on all visitors and guests. It is important to note that the Arms-Master is responsible for military or armed forces under the direct authority of the Household. If a Household controls a planet, for example, the planetary military will not be under the Arms-Master authority.
• Master of the Yard: Responsible for maintaining the physical land(s) of the Household, including any gardens, graveyards, parks, lawns, forests, fields, and anything else. This can range from maintaining graves to hiring and managing Farmhands for controlled farms.
• Master of the Coin: Responsible for the finances of the entire Household, primarily handling investments, stocks, bank accounts, trade deals, Household budget, savings, etc. They are chiefly responsible for keeping track of every credit and currency that flows in and out of the household. They also review and modify/accept/reject the proposed budgets of other Masters and present the total Household Budget to the Household leader.
• Master of Education: Many Households are quite vast, regardless of their classification, and have many heirs that need quality schooling. To this end, a Household will normally have its own private Academy where the topics of STEAM, history, philosophy, diplomacy, strategy, combat and many others are taught. The Education-Master is the highest authority of such academies.
• Master of Lineage: Responsible for arranging marriages for heirs and other members of the Household. This can mean hosting lavish courting ceremonies or expensive social parties. It also means extreme vetting, background checks, health analysis, family history checks for suitors, and a host of other deeds that go into setting a successful Professional Marriage. If a Household has an Inherited Magical Technique, then their Lineage-Master is also responsible for securing the details of it and maintaining a "control" bloodline that leaves the IMT unmolested by external blood.

Most Household Staff live on estate grounds, occupying separate quarters during multi-month or multi-year rotations. These staff members are often deeply integrated into the fabric of the estate, forming long-term bonds with the Household.
